Strangely the colour red is a big part of the whole thing. I cant think why that might be.... Maybe the name is a clue?

There is an obvious widespread campaign to associate bad things with the color red. It's brainwashing.

I can see what's coming. You will be able to buy a case color for whatever disease/ailment/cause that color represents. Of course, I don't think too many guys will want a pink iPhone/iPad to support titty cancer, lol.

It's copy and pasted from a book entitled "Beyond Integrity: A Judeo-Christian Approach to Business Ethics"

Of course that's your contention. You're a first year grad student. You just got finished some Marxian historian, Pete Garrison prob’ly, you’re gonna be convinced of that until next month when you get to James Lemon, then you’re gonna be talkin’ about how the economies of Virginia and Pennsylvania were entrepreneurial and capitalist way back in 1740. That's gonna last until next year, you’re gonna be in here regurgitating Gordon Wood, talkin’ about you know, the Pre-revolutionary utopia and the capital-forming effects of military mobilization.

waits for comments on how much money Apple has and how they should donate all of it to charity else they are evil

Aids in Africa

A great idea to raise funds for AIDS victims in Africa but the main problem is the Catholic Church's refusal to push condoms and as Bono is a catholic I can't see him telling the Pope he's got it wrong. Very sad situation but we all have to keep putting pressure on the church to admit their mistake. Ideology should not come into the equation when lives are at stake.

Man I wish there was a (Product) RED version of the iPhone.

It would be a natural release for the iPhone 5c. IMHO, it's just a matter of time, really.

In the past, it made little sense for Apple to do an iPhone in red, because that would have gone against their simplistic black/white manufacturing color scheme. But now that the iPhone 5c is "for the colorful", a Product RED would make sense.

Been using one for almost a year now, love it. I still prefer this over the gold 5S. Wish it was official!

One thing it needs is the white to be red, the two tone back and front panel that does not match is odd. My biggest issue with the 5C as well. A more uniform would look great.

Do you like apples?

Before Shazam was free, they had a Red Version of their App that cost money that went to AIDS research etc. The app is still around.

Why do only the red colours get the product red?? why not make everything apple (Red) not the colour but contribution??

Not a bad idea at all. I'm a little concerned that most of the comments, and most of the people here buying the product RED, are doing so for fashion rather than for the cause. That's a real shame. I agree that the red looks good, but that's not why we should be supporting it. Come on people, what you can afford to spend on a phone, would feed and educate a lot of people in Africa who don't even know what an iphone is!

Iron Man

Why not red with gold? the Iron Man phone!

If Apple won't make a red iPhone 5 (or release red versions of any other substantial piece of hardware), there's always colorware.com

A bit expensive but some nice renderings. And they offer post-in items, so if ones 's desired product isn't there, one can send in their own for a creative colour upgrade.

Anything for the cause. That's why the Product RED products are so attractive. Everyone wins, even people who don't have a clue who they are helping. And that's what makes this such a successful fund raiser. Some people will always be clueless ;)

Thought we already cured the AIDS? We should be focusing on Alzheimer's. And an iPhone with a larger screen.
