Two words: Lenovo W700
One word: crap
I don't know what they were thinking when designing this machine. That tiny tablet 3 cm above the table surface is just unusable and useless. They should have made it a little thinner, lighter and more like a laptop instead of stuffing everything that someone could need maybe once a month in a big black plastic box.
As for the glossy vs. matte thing, I hate the "oh come on only professional designers need matte" argument. Many normal users prefer not to get eye strain too. It's a personal preference thing, and why can't regular users prefer matte too?
I think Steve will enter the stage in 5 years and go "you know, every screen out there is glossy, and people just hate the reflections, the eye fatigue etc. So we have THE new trend for the future, meet our new matte display mattbooks!" Then all the people in the forum will praise Apple for this awesome invention and the 10% of people who REALLY prefer glossy (and not just because Apple says they have to) will be called whiners and will be told to shut up and just carry on with this breathtaking new trend that Apple just created.
if you believe it, that same scenario is happening right now in a parallel universe![]()
I have tried to order an MBP with Anti Glare display in South Africa, but the distributors here say they've been informed by Apple Europe that this model is not in Production.
I also attempted to order today at BHPhotovideo. They said, all Macbooks now come with Glossy Screen only.
Apple websites still have the option listed, but I suspect not for long.
Can anyone clarify what's happening?

Actually the finest displays for colour work are still CRT's. Guess what they are, glossy glass. You'll find all the finest Displays for color accurate work, don't have and never will have a glossy surface.
Sure MBPro displays are by no means near the same quality as these examples, but the principle of having a non reflective surface remains. Less reflection means more accurate viewing across the whole screen.
No debate needed, I hope this helps get the thread back on-topic

Exactly! Although matte should be an option on the 13" MacBook and 15" MacBook Pros too.glossy vs matte..ah the great debate. It's really all about personal preference if you ask me. Blonde or brunette?![]()

Are CRTs still matte, or at least "satin."
Care to back that (bold) up with something substantial, or are you psychic? You'll find all the finest Displays for color accurate work, don't have and never will have a glossy surface.
No offense, but that is just BS. A matte LCD will wash out to almost greyscale with a bright light source hitting it directly. No way you will get anything remotely accurate out of them with direct light hitting them, which is the same situation you will get nasty reflections with a glossy.Less reflection means more accurate viewing across the whole screen.
