Goodness for those that say its a Minor refresh ? No its not...

A minor refresh is one that has the newest connector over the older 30 pin connecter only or a minor refresh is when the WiFi has been tweaked a bit.

A nice refresh, not minor, is when you have doubled the cpu power, the new connecter, HD FaceTime and Wifi improvements at the same time. Not minor at all. Except those that are trying to justify not getting the 4th Generation because they have the 3rd Generation.

;) :D

If we step back & look at the big picture, it's just Apple being Apple.

They are a company very closely attuned to their customers. They take advantage of the ones that will buy anything at any price. They advocate, make excuses & justify Apples every move as though it's their company. They brag when Apple makes money, and they support Apple if they overcharge.

They brag about superior performance when Apples products lead, and they dismiss the importance of performance when they don't. Instead they shift the focus to "the experience" or some other minutia.

With customers like this Apple can do no wrong.

Apples core customers of the past are irrelevant to Apple. They've got iCustomers now. Easily impressed, easily lead, they follow along responding to every move the marketing masters make.

iCustomers buy products that in many cases generate over 70% to 100% gross profit for Apple. With this kind of markup, and the value Apple places on revenue, nothing else matters to them.

You hit the nail on the head PERFECTLY!

And I'm amazed so many people don't get the last paragraph. They still feel that Apple is 'their' company and cares about them as a customer!!!

This is as silly as the original post. What the hell is the problem with Apple releasing even a minor variation on an existing product? This is still a growing market and if Apple sees a need to attract new customers with an improved device then so what?

What kind of idiot expects EVERY product from ANY company to be directed at them? I've owned Apple products since 1985 - but I haven't purchased every product, regardless of whether it was a $50 Shuffle or a $2,000 computer. Apple is looking to the universe of buyers at large, they're not solely focusing on their installed base, so if you skip an iteration or 2 or 3 -- so what?

FYI: it's not called the iPad 4... It is the "iPad with Retina Display" officially. :)

Pardon me, but the "new Ipad" or the 3rd generation Ipad HAS retina display... apple is stoned man... too many products lining up way too soon... btw... m not concerned about them coming out with the new one... but m concerned about how they totally kicked out the 3rd generation from their lineup...
