202 contributions in 22 days. Not bad considering I can't wear the watch during the work day.

They should be buying everyone who participates in the study a watch. I've participated in many studies and the pay can be really good. That was smart of this company to team up with Apple to get so many participants without having to give us anything.
You complained about Apple being selfish in a latter post and you don't see any selfishness and entitlement philosophy in your post here? Get some glasses.

I think the heart study is a great thing. I didn't expect Apple or anyone else to give me anything for my participation.

Some of us aren't "professional" study participants and don't mind doing something to help others. ;)

I don't have the watch yet. But, may buy one for the study and to track my health. If I knew S4 would have even more heart monitoring, I would wait for it. Glad to know you don't need LTE. Thought somewhere else it said you did. I still may get S3. I have had two heart attacks and a fair amount of dead tissue at the apex. The study would help me and hopefully others. Not looking for an ROI. Although, by buying one, guess I am helping Apple out :)

Has this happened to you? After 75 days in the study, my count of contributions went down to zero and stayed there. Finally, I reset the phone and the count was restored to the 336, if should have been.

I’m soon to be 42, female. Joined the heart study 34 days ago, with 254 contributions so far. Why so many contributions taken from me? My husband is almost 50, joined around the same time as me, with half as many contributions taken. What gives ?

Ummm, we can't comment when it comes to affairs of the heart. ;) :D

And Apple with their outrageous prices for devices aren't selfish?

Two members in my family are Drs and my sister is a nurse Anesthetist it's not selfish getting paid for medical and drug studies if that's what your insinuating.

If this is a burden to you, just opt the frick out, or don't sign up in the first place.

No.

selfish

adjective
1. devoted to or caring only for oneself; concerned primarily with one's own interests, benefits, welfare, etc., regardless of others.

Wait, wait, you mean Apple isn't a charity??? :D

[doublepost=1525896596][/doublepost]Have you figured out what the contributions mean? That’s the confusing part. Doesn’t mean that they just picked randomly different times of the day for my heart rate, or did they pick up something that looks suspicious. I know they’re supposed to send you a notification if they find an arrhythmia, but I’m wondering if that means they’re finding something with the contributions, or if it’s just data that they’re collecting. Would be nice if somebody could answer those questions. So if you know I would appreciate any input you may have

This is what it looks like. Very easy to get started. I have been wearing it less then 48 hours and have contributions but have no idea what that means. Are they irregularities or just data they are collecting

I'm on day 83 with 540 contributions.
Wow. That’s some serious contributions
[doublepost=1525897366][/doublepost]I am new to this forum And not sure how to post a new post. So I’m just gonna do it here and hope somebody can help me. Ever since I did the last update this little circle thing in the corner just keeps going round and round and round all the time. People are telling me that when I text them one text message they get an 1000 times. I’m not sure if this has to do with that little circle up top spinning or if that is just something completely different. If anybody has any ideas or suggestions I’d really appreciate your help

It's just contributions - If you dig into the study https://www.apple.com/watch/apple-heart-study/ -- all it really says is that it is checking heart rhythm and beat data.

I really don't know much more than that - lol - maybe someone else will say more.

That little spinning symbol usually means whatever app you have up is trying to pull data down from somewhere.

Some of us older Heart Study members have a few more :)

I had two apps running on different iPhones using a different watch on each phone. Each copy of the app was using the same email address and each app was reporting different stats daily. I got this to work simply by restoring the backup from my 7+ onto my 8+ and both copies worked correctly.

I finally quit using two watches daily when the warm weather hit and I couldn't hide the watches with my coat.

The app on my 7+ showed: 586 contributions, 90 days in the study
The app on my 8+ showed: 615 contributions, 97 days in study

Hey all, I am still in the study and have the following with the Heart Study App on my iPhone X & S3 LTE+GPS AW:

I have 767 contributions and have been in the study for 109 days.

So that is approximately 7.04 contributions per day.

I guess they'll keep collecting data indefinitely.
I just saw this thread and decided, "Why not?" When I was signing up, the Consent Document stated, "The Apple Heart Study App will continue collecting data from you until January 31, 2019, unless you withdraw from the study or you delete the Apple Heart Study App."

I'd imagine you have the same end date. You can check by clicking on the little user icon in the top right of the Apple Heart Study App and then clicking on View Consent Document. At the bottom of the first page is where I found the above bit of text.

Saw my signature and freaked out - I don't remember ever giving that, haha. Cool! Didn't know (or remember) that existed, thanks.

But yep kylmr is right.

I wouldn't have known it existed either if I hadn't signed up today and read it in the small print. :)

So something completely strange happened today. My iPhone X just randomly restarted (checked the battery health and it was fine, no warning that I had a restart because of that) and when I opened up the Heart Study app, it was completely restarted. I had to sign up again and all that to join again. Everything was fine last night with the Heart app, I checked it and I was at 873 contributions after 123 days in.

Has anyone had this happen to them before? I have no clue what happened. I had my iPhone X next to my MacBook Pro and I happened to look over and notice it was rebooting and everything was fine except the Heart Study app.

Very Strange!

At least I was able to get back in. 2 contributions, 1 day in. :(

:apple:

That hasn't happened to me. 610 contributions in 164 days. It will be interesting to see what happens when people enrolled in the study buy new phones this year.

171 days in with 1,465 contributions. Sampling my heart data approx. 8 times per day, every day. I used to get multiple heart rate alerts per day with the Series 0 watch. Upgraded to the Series 3 watch - now only 1 event recorded in six months and it did NOT trigger a notification from the heart study docs.

I had 596 contributions in 59 days, when I bought my new iPhone 8+ I lost all the data and needed to start all over ( Apple said next time to back up only in the incepted way) now I am 108 day with 1158 contributions

I only have 289 contributions for 96 days or about 3 per day average. This is the lowest posted and about ⅓ fewer per day as BigMcGuire. Not sure if there is some method to this or not but......

EDIT: Just read the part about how active you are. I'm extremely active and maybe this precludes samples being taken.

How interesting. I'm a fat programmer. 5'11 220+ pound male. I try to run 3 miles every other day (and have been successful at it up until last month where thanks to business travel (really, my laziness) I ran 2 times all of May). If I don't run, I try to do 15+ mins of walking that usually get counted as exercise, every day but it usually doesn't do enough to keep the weight off.

Just joined a work exercise "encouragement" program where they encourage people to try to run more. So, ran 3.3 miles yesterday... (it really hurt) getting ready to run 1.5 miles today. Run is probably a misnomer... waddle is more like it. But ugh, it's 95F out right now at 5:48pm. :(

No idea why my counts are high. Maybe they see a defective heart... "Let's get as many readings as we can before this guy drops!" :p

360 contributions in 75 days. That seems lower than most others in this thread.
