I think the most we can hope for re feedback is some kind of summary of study results at the end of the study (probably in years). Since this is an online study with no personal interaction, it would be cool to get some kind of information or update about how study is going, but I doubt that will happen.

Agreed. This is a very large study and I would rather have it done the right way and not rush anything, and hopefully help people that have heart disease. I have heart disease (hypertension) and it would be great if by wearing something that I was going to wear everyday for very long hours regardless of being in the study that I and others in this study can potentially help out others or even ourselves!

b4 you come out with a program that will be reliable and FDC will prove it has to be tested well. as I knew from calling the research they told me that the research will run until 2019 I am very happy to part of it.

I don't think we'll get any feedback, especially since there was never any promise of feedback in anything I saw when we signed up. As always, I could be wrong. :)

Those of you who are sleeping with your watch on and wearing it round the clock - when do you charge it?

AW3 GPS - When I'm showering. This is usually enough for the watch to hit 100% (not true 100% but 100%) then I'll end the day in the low 80s if I exercised or low 90s if I didn't. Depending on where my watch is, I may leave it on the charger for a few more mins after the shower so it can hit 100%.

I guestimate that I could easily get 3 days if I wanted even with 30-40 mins of exercise a day - but I charge every time I shower (usually once a day).

I usually only take mine off when I shower and that’s when I charge it. I typically have about 40% left when I do charge it. The only time my battery gets really low is when I’ve worn it for 2 days without charging or when I go jogging outside and I’m streaming music and have the exercise app running

I was accepted into the heart study 7 days and have had 48 contributions so far.

While I shower and eat breakfast. That gives it about an hour, which works great for me because I basically only use the watch as a fitness and health wearable. I don't do *anything* else with it, so after I'm through exercising in the morning it's showing low-70s for charge state. An hour easily tops it up to 100%.

I bought 3 series 3 watches partly for this reason. When one needs to be charged, I simply put on another. I did this with the series 2 watches as well. I wear my watch 24/7 except to shower.

I take it of when I shower, wash my hands or work in a place that I may scratch it, and during charge, other way it's all the time on me

Thanks for all the responses. I charged last night when I showered and put the watch back on to sleep. Charged again this morning while putting on my makeup. This might be doable if my exercise buddies don't complete their goals while I'm still trying to sleep. ;)

Looks like they’re accepting more people. My wife was just accepted a few days ago.

I bought a new iPhone and in the process of restoring the data to the new one I lost the Heart study and had to start all over again 59 days with 589 samples were taken, I wish I had a # to call so they may be restore me

It would be important for them to be aware of this problem when switching phones or watches. Otherwise they are going to lose a lot of data continuity when the new devices come out this year.

Thanks a lot they open a ticket for me and will call me back,
very good service on there side,
and as someone on this forum said Apple will need to check that people that upgrading from an older iPhone or AW
will not loose the AP during the switch of the iPhone or AW

A couple of weeks ago I got a notice on Watch that said irregular heart activity was detected and I should open heart study on phone. It said “press button” to call Doctor. After awhile I was connected to a Dr. he talked to me for about 1/2 an hour. Then said they would like to invite me to join an additional phase of the study where I would wear a monitor for 7 days. Another person called me to get shipping info etc. in about 2 days I received an epatch kit. Monitor is a little bigger than an Apple Watch. After wearing for 7 days you send in back in prepaid envelope. In about a week I got an email saying results were in and call Study for results.

Fascinating (really, not being facetious). What sort of consent, if any, did they ask you to sign?

Wow that’s cool to see someone who actually gets to that second phase. Hopefully the information is helpful to your life. I’d be freaking out pretty bad if that was me, lol.

They didn’t ask for any signatures. Don’t recall any other authorizations beyond the initial ones to join the study. They did give option to have results sent on to your primary care physician.

Under Procedures on page 2, the consent document describes the events that will happen if the Study App identifies pulse irregularities, which includes the phone call and use of an ePatch to monitor heart rhythm. I think by signing the consent document we have already provided consent for this, though we always have the option to withdraw from the study if we don't want to comply. Sending information to your physician requires additional consent.
