This just has to be said: there is an upcoming Samsung phone being release in GOLD. Samsung also said that they'll be going to 64-bit and have a fingerprint sensor. Hmmm... innovate much?

It was always obvious that Samsung phones were poor iPhone imitations but now it's just getting embarrassing for them. There is even an iOS theme that you can get for Android... and don't mention the iMessage for Android fiasco that recently happened.

Pathetic.

----------

Cough... Android has an iOS 7 theme.

Well, either way...it did not change the fact that they are pathetic one way or other (or both?)

Honestly, I have an iPhone 4S 32GB with the iOS 7 update. It is like a brand-new phone. No scratches. Flawless. I just don't see the advantage to upgrading to the iPhone 5S. Slightly better blah, blah, blah...?

If I am wrong, please, help me see the light.

It's fine if it's not for you. There's nobody saying that is has to be.

Buy a new phone when you want one, not one someone tells you to.

It really depends on how it is used. If Apps take up the entire battery in one hour (as some do on the A6) then what's the gain? Using your battery twice as fast? Pass.

This chip might be good plugged in but we need time to figure out whether or not it is worth it. As far as I know, nothing exploits it yet except maybe the OS. Again, we'll see, now won't we?

Your (You're* - sorry I had to)quick to judge on it, and saying that a camera makes a phone might be one of the dumbest things I've read on the internet. I'd say making a 64 bit chip might be up there with a quad core chip: Who cares for most usage?

Are you going to be encoding DVDs or something on your phone?

The dumbest part I was referring to was the comment about 64 bit not being innovative, but all the competitors will be coming out with it shortly and it will not be innovative in a year. (I bolded it in my original quote) - If it becomes the standard, that is a loose definition of innovative.
I may be wrong, but I heard that some apps are already using the 64bit OS, and others are already close to release.
I'm having trouble understanding your post - by exploiting the chip you mean using the 64bit - and it's still a dual core chip using a 64bit OS - has nothing to do with cores.

lol dude going from a 4s to a 5s performance wise would be like going from a pentium to a intel core 2 duo lol, the performance difference is HUGE... the bigger screen is very nice and LTE is incredible... also the rear camera is dramatically better... it is quite a upgrade man plus better battery life..

i went from a 4s to a 5 and i was blown away,

The point was mostly to drag out people here saying that 4 core chips were useless in mobile, got bad battery life, etc.; and Apple clearly did not follow suit.

And yeah, I screwed up the your. I intended to say your judgement, but changed mid thought. Feh.

Good lord, I hope they don't go with a 5" screen. The 4" screen on the 5/5s/5c is already pushing it in my opinion.

Alternatively, if they do, I'm hoping they offer a "iPhone Nano" SKU for those of us that don't want to be carrying around giganto-phones.

For those of you that has small hands and small pants you can look into Samsung gear smartwatch...technology is advancing and we do more on the iPhone then we do on the computer. This is the reason I move to HTC One just because the screen size...to be honest ANDROID SUX big time

That's a bit...too small.

I'm thinking of something more in the ballpark of the Xperia Mini.

The Iphone 6 will not have the following:
NFC or a Quad core 2.1ghz processor.

NFC has not taken off in North America (where most iPhones are sold) and will likely be dead in 2 years and replaced by BLE.

If the A8 is quad-core, the indivduals cores will be slower to reduce heat and battery drain.

No way Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) it will be an NFC Killer - NFC tags do not require power and can be printed into wall poster. Besides this, NFC is more suitable for secure communications because of a very low proximity and as you know Google has already added BLE support to Android 4.3 => Apple has no advantage here.

Quad-core CPU are used in all high end smartphone and tablets...Apple A7 is using already a quad-core GPU and you don't complain about been slow or getting overheated

Got my 5S yesterday. It is noticeably faster in several applications. Faster than even my year-old 5. Still exploring it but so far what I'm seeing is that everything claimed for it is true.

Today I'll play with the camera and see how the pix compare with those from the 5.

Looks like a really great phone!

Where are the naysayers now?

Apple would never produce a gold one.
Apple will never produce a plastic one.
Apple would never come out with those colors.
Apple priced the 5c too much.
Apple needs a larger screen.
Apple cannot innovate.
Apple is doomed.

Strategizing their next moves, and busy formulating their antagonistic, cynical and gloomy responses in anticipation of the next wave of product releases, and gleefully awaiting the day Apple gets ready to release the iPads and MacPro etc., for confirmation they were right about those denials/predictions, to be once again proven wrong :D

Has Apple made a big deal of press reviews before this? It just seems really strange for them to prop up the press reviews instead of letting the products speak for themselves.

They could take that low-key approach. Many Apple products exude an understated elegance, that in addition to meticulous engineering and mostly state-of-the-art technology, is appreciated by millions around the world.

But I can't fault them for wanting to toot their own horn once in a while, especially with such glowing accolades from the tech press.

All those who have worked on the iPhone 5S, must be incredibly proud.

exactly!

no, they're your wet panties by far...

Batman and Robin grossed $238m back in 1997, and that was a heap of ****. Maybe it speaks volumes about the customers more than the product.

Sales =/= great product

The 5S and 5C are variants of the 5, with little that's game-changing. I've no doubt it's not bad, but there's no need to start wetting your panties.

Apparently your fabric bed-wetting expertise is too narrow minded when it comes to understanding sales milestones. Whether you're a fan of Apple or not, selling out 9 million units of a smart phone within a mere 3 days is nothing to sneeze at. Nor does it have anything to due with that stupid movie reference you made.

Also, the iPhone *is* a great product (5S = update of specs, 5C = variant of 5) nor does it have to be "revolutionary" and "game-changing" every friggin' year you hack.

The iPhone 5C is not a budget phone, Apple want to make a cheap phone why not just regurgitate the iPhone 4, give it a plastic housing, an updated processor and connectivity, and call it a day? They can price it as the current price for an iPhone 4.

Well I still think iphone 5c is too much money off contract. And they need a bigger screen option.

whoever said apple is doomed is a moron.

I don't understand why they should lower the price though. Agreed on the big screen.
