Apple just announced its second fall event, which is set to take place on Monday, October 18. As usual, the Apple Events webpage features an augmented reality logo that you can see when viewing the page on an iOS device.

Open up the Apple Events page on an iPhone or an iPad and then tap on the logo to open the augmented reality interface. Apple asks you to scan around the room and then projects the graphic from the event invite into the area.

For the Unleashed event, the augmented reality view features beams of blue light that are arranged in the shape of an Apple logo, along with the date "10.18."

Apple's October event is expected to focus on new MacBook Pro models, but we could also see the AirPods 3 and a refreshed version of the Mac mini. Apple plans to livestream the event, but MacRumors will also have live coverage both here on MacRumors.com and on our MacRumorsLive Twitter account.

My Apple Card is ready! Can’t wait for the new MacBook Pros! Apple are really invested in AR. Must mean that Apple Glasses are coming soon! ?

Any significance to Apple's calendar reminder being 2 hours long? Are they going to announce a bunch of things? Or do they always block out 2 hours?

Cool Drone Shot to close.

Will be quicker but 2 hours can be filled...

They used to have Bands play the event out. Not any more. It's a shame, I sometimes liked that.

It looks like this will steal a lot of media coverage from Google‘s Tuesday event, and vice versa.

No the reminder has always been 2 hours long if I remember correctly. Usually they need some flexibility since the pacing will change the amount of time in live events, but it’s not really necessary for pre-recorded announcements I guess.

I don't understand the use/fascination with AR and why Apple thinks this is the 'next thing'.

Integration. They took away the headphone socket so they drive sales in wireless headphones. They will very likely do the same here. Find something that people want to do with their iPhone and push them towards being "glassholes".
