Ah yes, I have heard of Autocad. Thank you for the clarification.
AutoCad and Catia are both "design" software but the similarities end there. AutoCad is primarily for 2-dimensional drawings / design (yes, I know it has 3D functionality). Even Autodesk's (the company that makes AutoCad) 3D-modeling software, Inventor, isn't anywhere near the same (high level) class of Catia. Unigraphics would be up there, then ProEngineer, and then finally Inventor and Solidworks.

Yeah, a car is thousands of times more complex than building a computer or writing software. Apple is way out of their league here. You can't just go to Foxconn and say "here, build me 10,000 vehicles". Even Tesla is still learning how to make a proper car, and this is a company that at least has background in rocket engineering.

Unless Apple's idea of a car is some toy car running iOS, their car will be a total disaster in the face of the competition.

Huh!!! What? You seemingly have never worked on large hardware/software systems; seriously, you couldn't more wrong.

Good fracking grief. You're affirmation is laughable.

Apple: Please don´t develop the apple car... I love all your products, everything you do.... But a car it is a very different thing, you are competing with brands that know their business for more than 100 years... Don't waste all the prestige you have!!!!!

You know what, the chances of buying a car again in the near future are decreasing, there are so many car sharing options and public transportation with all its fails is still better than being caught in a traffic jam for hours.

I'd rather they hire more programmers to bug-out MacOS, which has become as buggy as an extremely over-priced Windows PC (oh, and btw, Adobe: you too!)

The only way I can see them succeeding is by building something that doesn't exist yet. One such thing could be an auto-driving car for older people and those with bad eyesight. "Siri, drive me home." (Of course, Siri would answer "Driving you off the cliff right now".)
