Bring some aluminum to the iphone like imacs and macbooks:mad:

iPhone 4G might be just a small upgrade :/

iPhone 4G: Plan B with a second model?

Digitimes yesterday and the voice of one of his "researchers" Ming-Chi Kuo, thinks he knows that Apple has developed not one but two iPhone models of new generation designated by number in internal N90 and N91. The N90 is the device already widely announced, built with an aluminum shell and a screen with HD camera and a sensor on the front and the N91 would be him, less radically different from 3G.

Apple intends doing to protect themselves from potential problems associated with the production of N90 and the iPhone have, well, plan B, less ambitious (it is unclear to what extent) but possibly easier to produce. Another potential difficulty explaining Plan B, the arrival of a higher resolution screen might cause problems with existing applications. In this respect, we doubt, however, that Apple could easily use the system inaugurated with the iPad: the application runs on the small screen or pixels lined, full screen.

Furthermore, the analyst expects the arrival of 512 MB of RAM on the model of iPhone, N90 or N91.

The world couldn't handle the awesomeness of that design.

I still love the back of the original iphone then the last two with cheap plastic back. Why dont they still keep the design of 3g and 3gs, but instead of plastic they use alu or something else which is much stronger.

Because it blocks radio signals. The main reason the left that design in the first place.

I am not buying the new iPhone if doesn't have the new design. Easy as that. The soap cup design is played out like PS1.

Okay, what we need is a good old fashioned survey…

If Apple doesn't change the case design of the iPhone with this release, I'm going to:

  • Cry.
  • Throw a huge tanty.
  • Take an angle grinder to my 3GS to take off those nasty and outdated curved edges.
  • Email Steve Jobs personally and tell him how emotionally scarring this is to me.
  • Buy an inferior Android OS phone to send a clear message to Apple that I'm not happy. Email Steve Jobs personally, just in case.
  • All of the above.
  • Make an intelligent and informed purchase decision based on the benefits offered by the new phone over my current phone.

H. Stop posting here. Please!

the 3gs looking like the 3g was a major disappointment. let's hope there is at least some kind of new design if not the one that has been leaked so much.

although i'd still bet on the new iphone looking like the one we have seen.

It's a psychological human reaction. The people who have the old design have to justify buying the new one to themselves, so all of a sudden the old design is no longer hip, it's now tired.

If the new design were switched with the old one, and people were currently upgrading from the "new" to the "old", people would probably say the same thing.

I'm one of those ppl who is also tired of the design, but it has nothing to do with a psychological reaction for me. I never liked the current design, i got rid of the original iPhone just to get 3G but i always liked the original more (I'm still partial to my pre-unibody MacBook pro too). The less plastic and rounded edges the better. The new one looks sleek and if the back is plastic it sure looks a lot better than the current one.

I know some ppl just get tired of things and would be fine with any new design, but i know there's a lot of ppl who just think this design is really nice.

I feel your pain, i sold my 3G and the next day this rumor of a 3GS clone comes out. Needless to say i was pissed. Just give me the leaked design or something very close to it. Big fan of that design and would make me forget about the ugliness of the second design version. Why does aluminum have to block radio signals, such a shame, it's so much sexier than plastic.

As for the second part of your post, i would have to assume the most aluminum we'd see is the sides as in the leak. The original iPhones poor reception will keep them from going back to aluminum with that strip of plastic. Gotta remember it's still a phone, the most important function is receiving signal...at least on the iPad it's not quite as crucial.

Bad pants pocket footprint.

Hello my friends- Put your current 3GS in your pants pocket face side up and be prepared for the new nightmare of this new iphone protruding through your pants. The current 3GS face with its side to your leg leaves no such imprint.

Are you being serious? If yes, don't embarrass yourself any further.

It's a normal thing to keep a lesser upgrade in reserve in case of unforseen problems. We saw a similar situation with the iTouch last year with the camera issue (prototypes since appearing with the camera that was rumoured but pulled at last minute).

Have no fear, the new design is what we'll see unveiled by Jobs on the 7th. This interim/reserve design I suspect may still get an airing, but for that different tech Verizon phone you lot in the US are all getting your pants in knots about.

Sarcasm Panda, meet Veinticinco. Vienti...whatever, Sarcasm Panda.

Now I will leave and let you guys get to know each other.

I first had the original iphone, i sold it last year to see something revolutionary. But what i got was 3GS, same as 3G just fast, but i still brought it as i love iphone. This time if apple comes out with same design they will loose a customer, i will go and buy a used 3GS. I really want something NEW from apple this time around, iPad 3G has 3G connection and then it should be as crucial in receiving signals, but its working fine. THEN WHY NOT A ALU DESIGN??

Because it blocks radio signals. The main reason the left that design in the first place.

I also think that the plastic design was cheaper to produce. I mean the iPad WiFi+3G has a plastic part for the radio, and it seems to work just fine (ala iPhone1,1).

I can't believe people would even believe this. Unless they are coming out with two models, they won't be having the 3GS body.

The whole reason I did not upgrade to the iPhone 3GS is

1. Looked the same as my 3G and no one would know the difference unless they asked.

2. I could wait until the release in 2010 when we would get alot of updated features and new design.

If apple thinks that they can keep the same old design of this phone for the 3rd year in a row, it will bring them alot of bad press.

It says a lot about you, not really positive, if you would even consider making a purchasing decision based on #1.

a friend of mine knows the dude that found the prototype phone. guess what, not a controlled leak. he contacted apple 17 times to get the phone back to them. no go.

Ah yes, the old and proven irrefutable friend of a friend hearsay proof.

Did he mention that he and his friend also tried to destroy evidence? Did he also mention that he made no real attempt to return the device to the loanee, i.e Powell? I guess not.
