Apple isn't using any crazy tax loopholes. It's pretty obvious - they have to choose a country in the EU to operate from, and they chose the one with the cheapest tax rates. It's the same as companies moving to different states to pay lower taxes.

Do you complain that a company moving from New York to Delaware is a tax cheat? It's the same thing. Ireland is sort of a state in the EU

This is incorrect. Just google "Apple, Ireland, Netherlands" and "tax structure" and it will provide you with at least a basic understanding as to how these companies operate. It's not just switching addresses.

You would be saying differently if this was your own income. You'd be arguing, along with everyone else, about how "right" it is to do the utmost to protect our hard-earned assets.

Am I the only one who hates the over-used phrase "hard-earned money/income/assets/paycheck"? Is there anyone who doesn't think their money is hard-earned? Mine's pretty easy-earned.

You know, I've done pretty well this year. I think I'll skip that child tax deduction and just pay the extra. I'm sure the government will spend it well.

<---- This guy. I don't waste my time trying to find every deduction I can. My accountant actually gets mad at me when I don't have a box full of receipts.

Wow. You really don't understand how this works, do you?

Apple always does this, but one thing you will never read, "Apple gives 1 billion to help minority rights organizations".

Yes it is. It's just switching addresses.

It's complicated in the fact that you need 2 irish companies and you pay royalties from one to the other, but it's basically just locating your company's EU headquarters in Ireland, and using their lower tax rates.

So you mean as long as Apple does not align itself with good people, it is OK for them to be like Pfizer, Amazon, Google and pay as little tax as possible?

And the best philanthropy is done by doing it quietly, in my opinion.

Well, that is fine for an individual, but a company that is one of the most profitable and highest worth, it doesn't make sense for them to be doing "silent" philanthropy. Apple is a publicly traded company so they have a responsibility of reporting their charitable donations, and you never read about Apple giving a lot of money to charity.

Being quiet about charity is the same as doing nothing.

Please add all the other companies which do the same, so it's a little bit more fair.
I'll give you Pfizer to start.

AND, while we are at it, please post the laws Apple is breaking by doing what they do.

Then add the politicians and countries who pass the tax codes, labor laws etc. and we have a start.

Please educate yourself instead of spewing non facts. They are being investigated. That's all for now.
Of course only AFTER many many years of doing the same as other companies.

Summation: 'All companies rape the working class, so Apple is just like everyone else, so please get over yourself'.

nice....

Mhm, I'm sure the exploitation of Chinese labor is what you actually have a problem with here. You keep convincing yourself of that. :)

My "problem" with what?

Glorifying MLK who stated that people should be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin while Cook runs programs which specifically single out people because of the color of their skin?

Now you see, this is a completely different gripe from your first post. Please specify your agenda more clearly.

You know this isn't the board of directors, right?

So sick of oppressed Identity Politics.
Me too. People should never be given a job based on their race. It should always come down to their qualifications. Diversification for the sake of diversification is nauseatingly stupid. There is nothing racist about having a board full of qualified people that worked their asses off to get there. Making it something it's not is why the stupidity that is racism still exists.

What Apple are doing for others is, assisting the Rockefellers, Rothschilds and associated demons in dumbing down the general populace, pushing on technology for use in governmental spying, and being complicit in all atrocities commited via such groups. If you like eating GM Frankenfoods, foodstuffs laced with poisons such as Monsanto Roundup Glycogen, etc., politican terrorism, false flag terror events etc., then just carry on. If you find such activity repulsive then remember that Apple are complicit and hand-in-hand with those responsible. Apple are just another branch of the demon power.

Now maybe if they made their executive board a bit more diverse they could help continue what MLK started.

The man also envisioned this:
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."

Which goes against this notion that we have to do XYZ simply based on the color of ones skin.

This doesn't exist. There is no program to ensure people get jobs because of their race, regardless of performance or qualifications.

There are, however, programs that seek to increase diversity by choosing a qualified POC/woman/LGBT person over a qualified white/male/straight person. In these cases, all of the applicants are qualified.

These programs are a response to the fact that employers exhibit [usually unintentional] bias in hiring. All humans exhibit unjustified bias, it's part of being human. The key is to recognize it and put in safeguards to limit or prevent it.

Diversity is and if itself just pure racism. I know that is not politically correct, but the fact is, diversity is used to select people based on race. And that is racism whether you want to admit it or not.
It's also not accurate, at all.

While I'm a huge Apple fan, it does seem strange for them or any other corporation to invoke MLK considering he would likely have problems with how much money they possess and how little of it they use to make the world a better place. Y'all know that Dr. MLK was a straight up communist, right? [And I don't mean it as an insult.] Individuals and corporations with billions of dollars would probably not sit well with him.
