They have about one more generation of people giving a ish I reckon but when the union is dismantled (and it will be within the next 10 years) it will all start to come apart.
William will hold on to that throne with dear life. He will do some game of throne stuff. Kate will have to pop out 10 children if she has to he would never have that happen.

Harry on the other hand does not give a toss as far as he is concerned he doesn't want what happened to his mother to happen to his wife.

I don’t understand why a US company is honouring a British monarch. What does she have to do with them?

If the only the Apple UK website did it, it’s completely understandable.

If it’s about inspirational figures, what about King Bhumibol, who reigned for ~70 years and actually helped Thailand in times of crisis and upheaval. He passed in 2016, but did not get a dedication.

It is possible that Britain will be a 51 state of the US in the near future.

She is worthy of recognition. And certainly a retouch on that photo, why on earth not fix that blemish under her eye?

@jamdex seems to have a real issue with those who are not invested in this system of monarchy and the belief that the people of various nations are destined to be ruled by one family and one alone without consent. Its 2022, there are more who are against this archaic nonsense than for it. Doesn't mean we shouldn't show a little respect for a woman who has just passed away, but I'll show her the same respect as would for the little old lady who lives across the street. Most speaking against are speaking against the notion of monarchy , not besmirching Elizabeth herself.

One thing we can all agree on though. its an end of an era. Let's hope is ushers in a new modern one.

Who ever wrote the post, did they edit it to change the link to Apple's website because the link goes to the royal families twitter page not to Apple's webpage.

I'm sorry, but what did Apple have to do with the Royal Family? This is nothing more than a marketing activity from companies like Apple, and all others posting on Twitter, Facebook, etc...

I sometimes wish marketing departments would just keep away from their keyboards.

She will, however, be missed by me.

Is it possible, that considering that the UK is an important place for Apple, than being respectful and dignified, is appropriate.

I'm quite surprised by how upset this news has made me. I was born in 1971 and she was just always "there". A permanent fixture for us. A remarkable woman in that throughout her reign I dont think she ever expressed a public opinion outside of her annual Christmas message and official speeches - she kept her thoughts to herself and did her duty. Amazing.

I find it so odd to see references to The King. A new era has indeed begun.

Tasteful tribute from Apple. Nicely done.
We used to sing God Save the Queen every Friday morning throughout primary school (sadly was changed later). Still play it and sing it today, great and pompous tune. RIP.

Second question: who becomes king or queen after this king passes? After all he’s old right?

By law, the eldest child (regardless of sex, since 2011) of the monarch is next in line. So that would be Prince William, Duke of Cambridge.

The current “first six” in the line of succession are:
  1. Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, elder son of King Charles III
  2. Prince George of Cambridge, elder son of the Duke of Cambridge
  3. Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, daughter of the Duke of Cambridge
  4. Prince Louis of Cambridge, younger son of the Duke of Cambridge
  5. Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, younger son of King Charles III
  6. Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, son of the Duke of Sussex
