Honestly, at this point I wouldn't be surprised if someone came up with an information about apple being in talks to aquire Boeing or just about any aircraft manufacturer. Ya know... just to make planes snappier. Or greener. Or thinner, LOL. And self-fyling with navigation based on still-crappy Apple Maps.

Macrumors, just stop this. It's getting riddiculous already....

The sheer fact that you claim they would sell displays your complete lack of understanding, knowledge and comprehension of the idea of this story. And I didn't realise the FT was called FT Rumours?

Hilarious on so many levels - Clearly they are FT Rumors because the story is complete BS. McLaren have stated it

The FT is not ALL FACTS You know. They rely on Journos digging up potential stories too.

As for knowledge about McLaren... I guarantee my "understanding, knowledge and comprehension*" is more than yours, I live about 2 minutes drive away and I create safety videos for their pit visitors, but you have zero reason to believe me so I say good day sir.

*Bit dramatic there buddy!

I'm much more interested in their rumoured acquisition of Lit. They're not really motorcycles, more like a two wheeled, car, bodied car cycle. Really quite novel and useful in an Apple sort of fashion. Definitely an urban needed vehicle. Here's a video of a Lit vehicle.

Cue is going to be flipping tables if he hears about this.

I'd love to know his position on this. It would be interesting to see how his position on Ferrari's BOD would be affected if such a transaction were completed.

This will be very interesting to watch. ;)

Now I know why Button left McLaren, the Button also left the iPhone 7 - it is all coming together

Actually, Jenson is still under contract with McLaren through the end of the 2018 Season as a reserve driver. He as agreed to a back up role also as Alonso has refused to commit to 2017 until he drives the 2017 car. Stoffel Vandoorne will drive in Jenson's car in 2017. If Alonso activates his option to leave in 2017 Jenson will drive his car for 2017. :apple:

No VW is owned by Porsche

No, it's the other way around. VW owns Porsche, and also Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, etc.

If Apple gets into autos - they would want to sell millions, right?

This company hand builds a very small number each year.

Why would this work for Apple?

Not sure why you felt the need to remind me McLaren said it was a bogus story? And unless you are an employee for McLaren let alone sit on the leadership team, I don't think you have any comprehension of why McLaren would never sell to Apple. You definitely fail to understand their business model? You displayed your card sir when you stated Ron Dennis would sell the company he built to a giant American mass producing mass market consumer electronics corporation....

What happened to Porsche SE? They used to be a majority owner of VW Group?

VW owns all the others including Porsche.

I could see Apple acquiring the data side of McLaren, not the automotive part. Apple and similar companies seem to be acquiring data based companies frequently these days.

As a McLaren fan since 1987, I hope this is not true.
I cannot imagine 2017 F1 car to be named Apple Honda MP4 32.

Ron Dennis had same ideals and taste with Steve Jobs. Now these two companies have nothing in common, cause Apple has changed and transformed to a new 90s IBM.

Apple in talks to buy Google....

Google denies..........

Apple in talks to buy HP....

Apple in talks to buy GE....

No, get Aston Martin! "Power. Beauty. Soul. It Just Works." :D

Haha I've got 2 at the minute and can tell you that they don't just work. The infotainment system is pants, so I've had a friend fit a lightning to HDMI kit so I get the iPhone output on the SatNav display. I'm looking forward to the DB11 though.

Apple, leave McLaren alone!

The Regular Maclaren base model will start at 200.000 $ with a range of 300 km. The models with a range of 400 km and 500 km will cost an additional 50.000 $ and 100.000 $ over the base model. Then there will be the Plus model that seats 4 people and costs an additional 100.000 $ over the Regular line... :p

No, seriously! Partnering with Mclaren would be ok. They have a lot of knowledge! But acquiring it? Please, NO! They don't have enough production capacity anyway. Apple would/will have to find another partner to build enough cars.
