Apple Execs probably went on a factory tour........

If that's the factory, these cars seem to be made mostly by hand. I would expect an Apple Car factory to have robots doing most of the work.

This doesn't excite me. I'm not into sports cars or racing. I have a reservation for a Tesla Model 3, but I had hardly any interest in them when they were only selling the Roadster.

I'm not against Apple diversifying into automobiles, but I'm also not planning any future car purchases based on the confusing and conflicting rumors that make it to my eyes. I'm in wait (and wait) and see mode.

Apple is said to be interested in McLaren's automotive-related technology, engineering prowess, and patent portfolio.McLaren, headquartered in Woking, Surrey, manufactures high-performance sports cars, including the P1 and F1 models commonly used for racing. The carmaker produced just 1,654 vehicles last year, some costing as much as $1 million apiece. The carmaker has a Formula One team itself that competes under the name McLaren Honda.

The plot thickens. Is Apple interested in producing self-driving Formula-One racing cars? LOL

McLaren is one of my favorite manufactures and also one of my favorite F1 teams. As an Apple user, I hope this isn't true. I think Apple would ruin the race team that I know and love with bureaucracy and corporate greed.

That would be a very interesting acquisition. McLaren makes quite a fantastic supercar (one of the best, if not the best), I'm curious what they could accomplish together.

I agree and this is actually with the parent company the McLaren Technology Group, much wider than just the sports car division. I think there is some interesting synergy there of both companies willing to push boundaries. One to watch with interest.

This simply means the current Titan team is so screwed up they need to buy McLaren solely for their engineering talent. Obviously this isn't for mass producing cars since McLaren builds hypercars, not mass market.

Apple finance will run the production line into the ground with their cost cutting and vendor negotiations to reduce component cost.

As a huge F1 fan, this would be crazy haha. I can't imagine an "Apple-McLaren F1 Team," though it would be interesting for sure. Who knows, maybe then Google will take over another staple team Ferrari and it'll become "Scuderia Google-Ferrari." And then the Ferrari team would suffer all sorts of tech and software glitches that would brick the cars or cause constant need to restart the engine. It'll be Apple vs. Google taken up a notch.
