Notice the utter lack of overlap.

Ha! Excellent!!

I've been wondering what I'm missing with this whole TS (nausea inducing) wave, so I again listened to some of her songs on iTunes to discover whether I'd given her a bum rap in the past (as a rule I ignore anything that is overly hyped, it's almost universally a sign they have no talent and are all about formulaic flash). After listening to clips of all her top songs yesterday I realised I'd not misjudged her at all - glad to see others feel the same as me and I'm not crazy to think this modern day Debbie Gibson is not so incredible as some would have you believe.

I must be aging out of the desired demographic for these music services. So long as Rolling Stones, Jeff Beck, Aerosmith and Black Sabbath aren't going for this nonsense, we're good, right?

I never heard of those people.

And get off my lawn!

You and me both. I have nothing against new music but much of it is just cookie cutter crap and I don't get the attraction to it. Taylor Swift sucks and her brazen, spoiled brat attitude just adds to the dislike. Apple can lock up all of these eh hem "artists" and I won't sleep any worse. At all. ;)

Aren't these all dead anyway?

Apple arriving last to the party yet again. They really are becoming the new Microsoft. Spotify will destroy this new service.

Sounds like the Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine are starting to show their influence in Apple. Apple pushing celebrities with the Apple Watch and celebrity exclusives with Beats. I still think what Apple needs next is new hip ad campaign.

Who in their right mind would change their streaming service for an exclusive Taylor Swift song? What's the deal with streaming services companies lately thinking they are the hottest new thing in music industry? They've been around some time and quite frankly they should provide better services by now. I always thought Apple would make a huge move in streaming and iTunes integration but it slacks hard in that area.

I don't really care for these mainstream pop "machines" to have an exclusive album.

I care for diversity and to see a lot of emerging and new, and much lesser known artists.
Yes, for convenience I buy my music on iTunes.
Tho there are a lot of albums I can't find here or not fast enough.

That's exactly what I think is going on. It's why Apple brought these guys into the fold, especially Iovine who dresses like an overgrown teenager.

A new ad campaign is not the answer. I think it needs to flush these guys out and get professionals who know what they're doing when it comes to iTunes/Radio/Streaming.

BUT, they both report to Eddy Cue, so you have to think about who's to blame for making that call to chase Taylor Swift. Apple's getting too many egos into the VP area and that's not a good thing. I don't think Tim Cook is that hardcore enough to put these guys in their place.

Matt Bellamy also suggested on Twitter that he was meeting Jimmy Iovine. Maybe some Muse exclusives too.

THAT will be a fine day. I've been opposed to upper middle gangsters for years. Brooklyn has been gentrified for decades and does not need another 'shout out' from some token black guy... who more than likely went to a private school and has this fantasy of being a thug.

You're right and I love it how they consider "gentrification" (anti-White code word) a bad thing.

Can't get lower pricing so why would just lure customers with better content from artists...

I like how you think Apple..

I've never used Beats mainly because it personalized you too much, much not other most others too.

Besides, why would i even use it, its your even available as a Mac app, but its on Apple TV ? Come on Apple, it's YOUR product here.

I would easily stream, I only knew it was available ion all platforms, and the content was there... Which is why i still pirate...

After re-launch of Tidal and Spotify's big success it's easy to say that Beats will be DOA.

I estimate max 18 month lifetime for the service.

Us the consumers are losers here. If all big streaming services get some exclusive releases the we should subscribe to all of them. Not gonna happen. That just makes Piratebay ad revenues bigger.

The ignorance is strong with this one. She was one of the only artists in the world to go platinum last year and while you may not like her music, (I don't care for it, myself) it's not the cookie-cutter crap that a lot of pop is. Getting an exclusive with her would be huge for Apple and Beats.

Going platinum means you get so many sales. As someone who uses OS X, you should know that sales do not necessarily reflect quality and/or love.
