Yeah that's very good and well for short term profits. Long term, Cook is alienating his users, which is extremely bad.
I understand that some people don't agree with Apple's decisions. I don't agree with all of them and can't imagine anyone would, but when the number of Apple customers is growing each year, and is so vast, how can you possibly say that "Cook is alienating his users." and it's "extremely bad"? What evidence do you have beyond the complaining you read on this forum?
Those users have lots of choices and Apple has the largest companies in the world, e.g., Google, Amazon, Samsung, offering competing services and products, yet this year, hundreds of millions of people the world over will choose Apple. There was much whining on MacRumors and elsewhere that Apple was making a big mistake by removing the iPhone 7 and angry consumers would reject it and that there would be a big decline in sales, yet the phone is selling extremely well and it is predicted that close to 200 million people will buy it this year. The only evidence that matters is what consumers do in the free market.
