Yep. My daughter watches the same 3 movies everyday any time she can. My data went way up and now my area has data caps put on.

The solution to that is already out there. I run one of my mini's with 2 3 TB usb Drives, I DL everything I buy, I convert all the apple music I buy to a more palatable format and I save all the movies local. They are available through the Itunes home sharing to all devices capable of playing, including apple TV. Oddly enough though I have found ATT router as insufficent and my airport extreme wireless outperforms the att router wired.

I have been using AirPort since the early 2000's, and I think that they are wonderfully designed and perform better than a lot of the competition.

It is amazing that they have a lot better range than the routers with big antennas sticking out of them.

It is a shame that Apple is no longer developing them.

If only these things translated to a superior product.....

Having the best sales, the most money, the most popular OS, or having trendy products does not mean Apple has not "lost it" as the person you quoted has stated. There are plenty of other companies that have broken records, made lots of money, had a huge market share, but lost their way.

I remember when MS Windows fans would brag about how popular the OS was, and how many apps there was for it when compared to the Mac OS.

I do too, I am hoping for some retro games, or retro games re-mastered like the NES DuckTails game on the iSO and tvOS.

I wouldn't mind some of the newer ports too. I am curious how the ATV4 compares to recent games console. There were rumors in 2015 saying that ATV4 could do XBOX 360 games, although, that may have been if it used a newer A-processor.

I'm looking forward to what major changes are coming September.

Me too. I would like to say that it could only get better, but we all know that isn't true.

The ATV5 could have larger storage, 4K, faster Ethernet, better design for the Siri remote, and a performance bump for hopefully some good game ports.

Of course knowing how Apple is lately, they could bump the storage for the higher priced one only, keep the same remote, and remove the Ethernet port so it could be more water resistant.

I only had my iMac. Which was running low on space. Just bought nas over the weekend and will move to using that for storage.

I jus it for streaming with Beamer and Netflix and this works great for me.

Incorrect, you can install VLC and store movies on the ATV4 directly.

Incorrect, I have had this discussion on this forum several times. People claiming that when storing movies via VLC, this would only be there till you shutdown the app, but it is and will be there until my ATV runs out of storage. As I have the 64gb version that is not going to happen soon.

Stop being funny! Good luck saving your iTunes bought movies into VLC. Therefore you're INCORRECT!
