Does Apple do deals with anyone besides rappers? And before anyone screams racist, check my avatar.
I don't know if they have deals with other types of artists but hip-hop is where the money and [most of] the audience is, so that's where they're focusing.

I forgot that Apple Music has been forcing me to listen to music I dislike. That feature has totally flown under the radar. I better switch to Spotify (I'll purchase a subscription through IAP).

Seriously, I wish they hadn't replaced the "For You" tab with "Absolutely Not For You" tab. I feel like that was a bad product move.

Yay more music I have no interest in. I'm sure this is good news for someone, but just solidifies further why I'm happily sticking with Pandora.

When one doesn't want to hear an opposing viewpoint, one simply labels it as racist.

That's the go to move for the party of 'tolerance' these days.
Whether you're right or wrong, you're all well and good with "the party of tolerance" until you disagree with them. ;)

I long ago lost the need to have the newest "hit" song immediately. If they show up a little later, so be it. As long as an Apple Music subscription means I can still listen to just about any song every made in the long term, I don't care. Which also means I don't care if something is exclusive for a while on Tidal or Amazon or whatever, same thing.

Oh your just jealous. Clean air, clean water, affordable housing, cheap utilities, lots of room, low crime, no fighting traffic and more freedom. It's not all that bad. Believe me.
Hahaha. Best reply ever! Heck man that sounds pretty nice. Maybe I'll make a trip out that way soon. For real!

What about that Taylor Swift girl?

Definitely a paradise for me.
Sydney is way behind this, especially Air pollution.

I have no issue with limited time exclusives. History is full of precedents were record stores or radio stations had exclusives to an album for a limited time before going on to wide distribution.

But if Apple is actually planning on making these artists permanently exclusive to Apple Music, they will have lost my decades long support and I'll move to Spotify.

Don't be evil Apple, don't be evil.

Sorry, but that makes no sense. If Apple continues to sign up artists exclusive to AM, you'll move to a competitor with fewer offerings so you'll shortchange yourself? Not to mention, Spotify isn't exactly loved by artists.

This is the nature of competition, for better or worse.

Came to say this. I have no problem with Apple working with labels but Birdman has a history of not paying people who work with him so it's disappointing for me to see Apple co-sign him like this.
I don't keep up with birdman,....but that sounds more likely.

Oh I always get the... "Oh your dumb because you live in South Dakota" comment around here. The truth is most people that make that comment think we still have covered wagons for transportation and no running water or electricity. They are the same people that think the American Indians still live in tipis and sustain themselves by hunting buffalo with bow and arrow. No, we have Interstate highways and they are smooth with a speed limit of 80 MPH, modern homes, electricity, running water, high speed internet (100 Mbps for $39.95 because we aren't stuck with Comcast or Charter), 4G LTE, and everything that you have in the middle of the largest city. Sure maybe we don't have the same dining options, but thanks to the Internet I can purchase the same products you can in the middle of NYC. Add in no State income tax and low cost of living we do just fine on lower wages.

Anyhow live where you want and enjoy life. Just don't get smart and think that someone from South Dakota isn't well educated or doesn't understand the world. We are thoroughly modern and no I'm not using the telegraph to post this message.

Thanks for your reply and no, I have no intention to criticise a place I have never been before. :)
