Why would you be afraid to say whether you knew or cared about some record company? Apologizing for an opinion and cowering under fear of racism because you hadn't heard of them??? SMH-- Fascists are smiling.
Good. Let the fascists smile. These days you can't turn around and scratch your nose without someone getting butt hurt about it. If I didn't get accused of racism by the PC crowd I get accused of cowering in fear to fascism by the anti PC crowd. As if either side is right about me when they shove me in that box and label me for their own agenda. Whatever. I know what I wrote and why I wrote it and have no regrets.

Especially when it's for a service as DESTRUCTIVE as Apple Music. It DESTROYS nearly everything it touches by insisting on adding it's own DRM garbage on private documents, music, etc... I've had 3 music libraries totally destroyed by iMatch and then Apple Music did the same thing.

Now half my music library is totally f'ed with mislabeled tracks and artwork and the ultimate sin the f'ers added DRM back to some tracks even though I specifically paid Apple to remove the DRM and other tracks that I uploaded from CDs! Now I'm completely locked into iTunes because of this a 3rd of my library will only work with iTunes again. They should be SUED.

I've completely soured on this company, but can't do anything about it because everything I have is Apple. But I'm not buying anything else.

Sad thing is, I would absolutely listen to stuff in the Absolutely Not for You tab before listening to For You. Maybe I'd discover something new - the eternal optimist in me. Or I'm a masochist. :)
Now THAT is worth getting steamed about. I am glad I went straight from CDs and tapes to iTunes so I did not get anything wrecked. My husband had a collection of music, I'll have to ask him if his got wrecked. I think he was keeping his on a PC so probably not.

Oh your just jealous. Clean air, clean water, affordable housing, cheap utilities, lots of room, low crime, no fighting traffic and more freedom. It's not all that bad. Believe me.

Really, this is the best kind of response to those dismissive insults. Just for the record, I live in a dense urban area and love it; but I have no interest in hip hop, either.

I assume you are talking about "Dance with the Devil" by "Immortal Technique".

Am I right?
I think that's the one, yeah. Weird...how did I come to associate that song with Prodigy? Well thanks for finding it for me.

I liked that song a lot because the neighborhood I grew up in lost a lot of young guys to that life and I was hoping at least a few might hear a song like that and stop and think. I don't think any of them ever did anything quite like that but a lot of my teenaged neighbors ended up with a bullet in them. Nobody died but they weren't making anything out of their lives and probably are dead by now. I hope not, but where else were they heading with the choices they were making or pushed into making because everybody was buying into the lifestyle some boneheaded rappers were selling.

Apple has given its approval to a destructive cycle of negativity. It's their right, of course, but it's shameful.

You have reading comprehension issues. Here it is in bullet point:

1. Limited time exclusives are normal in the music industry and are an acceptable practice.
2. Permanent exclusives are not.

Again, you contradict yourself. A limited time exclusive is still an exclusive.

Length of time is irrelevant. Context clues.

Try again.

I hate the young people, and the hippity hop, and the Poking Mans, and the regressive left, and the cultural marxism, and the political correctness, and the social justice warriors, and I'm normal, regular, well-adjusted, and definitely NOT a pathologically lonely bitter piece of trash excuse for a human being

Do you have any factual evidence to back this up with?
Ever hear of this niche brand of audio equipment called Beats Electronics? They're pretty obscure, it's OK if you haven't

That's the spirit! "Whatever" is exactly right. Stand up for yourself and don't be bullied by the fascists on any part of the spectrum who think they can tell you what you can say or write or think. Cheerio:cool:

Birdman is just a grimey person. If you look in to all the problems he's had with people that worked with him... I'm just surprised Apple wanted to work with him. Just about any other person in hip hop would be better.

I'm not surprised. I don't think Apple knows what the hell they are doing when they approach anyone anymore. They just go "Oh, a rapper and he also is known as a DJ, hey wasn't Casey Kasem a DJ, everybody loves a DJ, and he has other rappers working for him, so he must know what he's doing! Let's offer him a billion dollars to make a documentary. IRS is just going to take it anyway. Amazing. A documentary. That would match perfectly with our reality tv show about apps. Appers and rappers, it's a natural synergistic alignment! Magical. Amazing. Oh crap, we are hitting a rough patch in the negotiations and now Kanye is talking some smack about us on Twitter. Somebody get Taylor Swift on the line. She will know what to do." o_O

Yeah I am being silly. Summer heat has melted what was left of my brain.

Does Apple do deals with anyone besides rappers? And before anyone screams racist, check my avatar.
And to add to this, 'rap', 'rappers', 'rocker', 'dj-er' is not a race.

Yeah I don't know, music-wise the people they sign with are seriously misaligned with my tastes at least.
What about some Indie love? What about music groups like Pearl Jam? Or another 'name your favorite band here' that it's not $$-bling-cash-42Mdollars or Taylor Swift or another Pop artist?

Curious thing, if anybody can relate: pop artists rake millions of views per day, yet I know almost nobody that listen to it.

I listened to the various punk radio stations on google music and there was no hip hop
Have you listened to their playlist stations like late night driving, 90's classics, late night studying etc? 75-80% hip hop and rap, which is ridiculous. For whatever reason, this isn't the case on Pandora.

Oh your just jealous. Clean air, clean water, affordable housing, cheap utilities, lots of room, low crime, no fighting traffic and more freedom. It's not all that bad. Believe me.

don't forget, ghost towns, lack of entertainment without driving over a few towns, few high end employment options. in fact few employment options in general. a good few hours of driving if you do need to get access to anything important that isn't in your town or city. want something nice? need to have it special ordered in.
ill give you clean air but depending on where you live in the kota's, "clean water" is debatable.

oh yea also, if you want to do anything other then sports in school or want to go to a decent university or technical school? better be prepared to move out of state.

ironic a station called "90's classics" had hip hop in it, considering the 90's was the pioneering "boom" in the hip hop genre and produced some the greatest artists not only in the genre but in the history of music itself?
also ironic "late night studying" has hip hop considering the largest demographic of students are between the ages of 12-25. also ironic the largest number of listeners of hip hop happen to be between 12-30. i wonder why this would effect a playlist about studying.

sure hate on hip hop, but even the biggest company in the world won't ignore a genre that has some of the biggest selling artists in the history of the music world.
face it, you guys may not like hip hop. sure thats understandable, i am not a huge fan either, especially if this new "trap" crap. but face it, it is a big standing genre and it is not going anywhere anytime soon. most of these "bling bling grillz' guys have bankrolled themselves with more gross and net income then most of us here on this website can imagine.
eminem has sold nearly 100million albums, (155million if you could all worldwide sales of his albums with D12 and Bad meets evil, the two groups he founded.)
tupac has sold nearly 75million albums. (~94m counting digital undgrounds albums)
Jay-Z has sold nearly 60million albums.
just these three artists make up a total of 235-300 million(300m counting tupac's and eminems non solo albums), already surpassing the album sales of the beatles, all under ~20 years at this point.

think about this. the beatles have sold ~260m in the past 60 years, while eminem is close to reaching half of that in just 20 years(has surpassed half if again you count the sales of the two groups he also started).
when apple sees numbers like these, when they see platinum and diamond records, one after another coming from the Rap/Hip-Hop community, of course they see dollar signs, they would be making a mistake to not do so.

just because you don't like it doesnt mean the world will custom tailor to your tastes. i personally don't like the beatles, but 263m people disagree and thats their right to. i also love talking to my parents about when they were young, and them telling me their parents used to say the same thing about the beatles, the eagles, stewart and billy joal, about kiss and ACDC, that people say now about hip-hop. it won't last, its garbage, its a buncha lazy artists. yet ask anybody aged 35-60 and I'm willing to bet they will name atleast one of those fore mentioned bands/artists as some of the "most iconic" or as "classics" or as "legends"

Since you missed the part where I pointed out that "75-80% is hip hop and rap, which is ridiculous" Let me state one more time. 75-80% is hip hop and rap, which is ridiculous. Some rap and hip-hop, sure, but when I'm burning through all of my skips back to back trying to find one non rap or hip-hop song, that's a massive issue for me. Let me also reiterate (without tapping out a GD novella to do so, unlike some people) that I have only encountered that with Google Play Music (formerly, but sadly nothing like, Songza which was freaking awesome) and Apple Music, and that Pandora contains a much wider, more diverse mix of music across its playlists which is why it remains my streaming service of choice.

You've never heard of a limited time exclusive? Again, you have reading comprehension issues or you're having a stroke. I hope you feel better.
