That just seems odd to me. It’s not like there are 5 Apple TV articles a day.

Not yet there isn’t. It’s not like it’s an Anker or Twelve South sale. They don’t all need to be on the main page.

When they make a new phone you want to hear about it, but not if they make a show?

You got it! Although, it would be cool if there was a section dedicated to all of that content. Eventually MacRumors is going to post a spoiler on the main page.

You do realize that Apple TV plus will this year become the largest streaming service in the world, and will dwarf Netflix and soon have a 100 million more subscribers than Netflix?? You do realize that Apple already is ahead of the pace Netflix set in developing original content?? You do realize that Netflix is trapped in a scenario where they can't raise prices enough to come close to keeping pace with the insane increase in prices they must pay to compete against Amazon, Apple, Google, Disney, Hulu, Comcast, CBS, etc., and that they have but a single revenue stream in contrast to those companies that have multiple revenue streams to leverage their streaming services???

Artificial scarcity. Gotta love it!

Wow...it's hard to even comprehend such religious faith. This year pass netflix 100 million.

I have no doubt the numbers will be good, but I think even Timmy's dream scenario isn't passing netflix at all this year.

Disney is worth $244 billion. I doubt even Apple could manage a takeover. I don't think you realize just how much of the entertainment world Disney owns now.
I realize it. I own a lot of DIS shares. If AAPL wanted to drain their cash and take on new debt, use their own shares, etc, they could do it. I don’t think you realize Apple makes $60B in profit annually.

Netflix isn't going to be losing subs to Apple's subs. But, I am sure they are worried about the impact of Disney+ on their sub base.
I don’t think you know that at all.

Netflix should be worried about both.

All it takes it’s one water cooler show to convince people to remain subscribed. Case in point I’ve been a Amazon prime member since the beginning and I never seen any of their shows but I got turn on to the Lost Boys and now I am looking around to see if they are other shows I might be interested.

Carnival Row has me hooked right in, a mature mythical creature based Police inspector story! Very good, writings good, acting’s not bad either. Sometimes I prefer Prime to Netflix because they have a few great shows, not hundreds of shows some great, and they don’t cancel them as often either!

I can see Apple dropping a lot of it’s shows after a year or two if people don’t watch them.

Obviously you need to stop posting and get some rest. A couple of points. Apple will sell well over 200 Million devices this year that get a free subscription to Apple TV Plus. That alone, not counting the millions who will pay for a subscription, will put Apple about 50 to 100 MILLION more than Netflix. See how that works. Not faith, but facts.

Good, more content. Keep it going.

Netflix wringing their hands.

I am very curious as to how they are going to respond. The price of Disney+ and AppleTV+ is going to put serious pressure on them. The only ones you can get away with charging $15+, IMO, is HBO.

Hard to fault the author of this article, Julie Clover, for not knowing this was already a movie since there’s no way to look that up. Ah, millennial journalism.

I for one like these news headlines, I'm not sold on Apple TV+ yet so I would like to know what's coming. Honestly, being Apple and their fanbase demographic, don't they need some sci fi?

The content is getting good. Maybe Apple will buy the rights to Taboo and we can get that going again. What a good series.
What happened with Taboo? Has it been canceled?

Don't get the Netflix hate.

Out of the streaming services out there it is hands down my favorite, particularly because I prefer their original content and they rescue a lot of great TV shows and either keep them going or give them proper closure.

That said, I subscribe to all 3 major services (Netflix, Hulu, and Prime) only, and combined with my Fire stick4k I always have a surplus of things to watch.

More content simply means just that.

It's a great time to be a cord cutter!

They do need some science fiction.
"For All Mankind" might qualify as science fiction, since it takes place in an alternate reality where the US wasn't the first to the moon. Sort of like "The Man in the High Castle". "For All Mankind" will be one of the shows that premiers with Apple TV+ in November.

Great! Foundation Series was rumored, right? I've lost track of what's been announced or rumored but I'm looking forward to seeing the actual lineup.

Foundation and an unknown Simon Kinberg sci-fi series. See is sort-of sci-fi I guess, and Spielberg's Amazing Stories might touch on it a bit. I don't know that For All Mankind is sci-fi exactly but its surely for the same demographic. M Night Shyamalan has a series too which could go anywhere, and of course there's Snoopy in Space :)

Hmm. Watching one show now - Righteous Gemstones, which is hilarious. GoT is gone. Veep is gone. I like Barry. Just not enough great content. I’m watching way more on Amazon.

Honestly, I’d cancel HBO and add Apple and Disney and save $5. We will see.

I believe Apple is going to have a hard time producing engaging content that will meet their PC mentality

I don’t know. Game of Thrones was the biggest show on the planet. Not PC at all. Maybe Apple will see that and try to make money versus putting out woke that loses money. But who knows? I just watched MIB International and the woke made me gag. Maybe you can’t get away from it.

give succession a go. It’s easily the best acting/drama of any show in years.

Don't worry, there's all the graphic sex and violence, extreme gore, etc., you could ever want, just a click away for anyone who finds they can't engage with Apple TV Plus because it is "too PC."

I wasn't a fan of the movie, but can't remember why. Might watch it since I haven't seen it since release.
I wasn't a fan of that movie either. Unless I'm wrong, the main character (played by Harrison Ford) was very stubborn, not a good parental figure.
The inventions were very interesting, specially the large freezer / ice machine.

But this is going to be an 'adaptation', so I can't wait to watch it.
