Won't the text tools replace my correct UK English words with weird incorrect American English words?

See for yourself. Might need a bigger sample though. IMG_5492.jpeg

18.4 is when the interesting stuff happens. All this summarising, rewriting and fake images is pretty ho-hum and mostly useless fluff.

Selling a phone based on Apple intelligence and most it won’t be available for 3-6 months after.

Curious how this will affect apples bogus “carbon neutral“ plans considering the insane amount of power needed to do A.I. 🤣
Apple addressed that in the Keynote. All their data centres are run on 100% renewable energy. They have some big solar farms.

Yeah don’t see a need for Apple ai. Won’t be using iPhone mirroring either. Why bother when iPhone is likely next to me - and I’d rather plug in and download photos thru Image Capture.
Of course Apple may force me to change as they denigrate their older apps like Preview for simple edits.
Meanwhile Numbers gets mumble dumb as they continue to add features ( is it a spreadsheet, or presentation app) to what was once Multiplan - which apparently is no longer in their autocorrect Dictionary.
As a guy with an iPhone mini (frequently running out of battery), I actually am a huge fan of the iPhone mirroring. I can have my phone charging while using some apps that are only available on the phone.

This makes no sense, 18.2 is coming out before 18.3? Assuming US holiday is meant as Thanksgiving.

If they are struggling this much Apple may as well switch to a two year upgrade cycle instead.
Actually I don't see why Apple shouldn't switch to a two-year upgrade cycle. Major hardware update every other year and each year software bug update and feature updates. In a way, switching to two-year upgrade cycle could help reduce electronic waste. It seems good consumer practice to not consume so much.

Except, I see this as Tim testing the water so they know how far behind they can be in terms of releasing software features. I bet after some time, they will announce features that are still more or less on the drawing board and release it 2 years later. It’s insane for us, but not surprised to me.
They should all release their flagship phones at the start of the year like Samsung.

If this roadmap is correct, then it makes even more sense to wait for iPhone 17. You are going to spend the first 6 months of the phones lifespan with none of the major features. When they finally are released, the iPhone 17 with possible redesign is right around the corner.
that's it but it's inconvenient because I need a bigger screen and better camera now.

Apple just REEKS of not having their sh*t together when it comes to AI. It seems *everyone* is ahead of them in that department. They got caught with their pants around their ankles when it came time to run… and it shows.

That’s what you get when you put the bean counters in charge. You get left behind.
so many Western countries run by bean counters too sadly.

Looking at the timeline, where does iOS 19 fit into this? Given the time it’s going to take to finish delivering on iOS 18. Will there even be an iOS 19 next September?

This is why I'm not buying it when Apple is saying the 16 series is created with Apple intelligence in mind. It's not, and it's pretty obvious. If it's designed along with AI, why did it take half of its life to complete the selling features?
I don't think I understand the criticism.

I bet there are iOS 18 versions that are only for internal release that are not for developers and much less for the general public as betas. Apple can have its own internal versions running and testing their AI. Why not?

That's kinda what I'm telling myself too. Since all those fancy features may not be all fully activated until early 2025, maybe I can just wait for the iPhone 17 Pro :)

I gotta say though, I LOVE that Camera Control.

It's actually INSANE to me that the 16 series is quite literally being advertised as "with Apple Intelligence" but won't have the majority of features promised until the 17 is approaching and NONE of them until 18.1 drops in mid-late October. Very messy Apple...
It is a little nutty that way.
