At some point Apple might decide to pull out of Europe. Their marketshare there is not that important. Would the EU then fine Apple for leaving. How would that work if you don’t do business in the EU anymore?

Pull out of its second biggest market, full of stable, reliable and wealthy countries? lol. You need to plug yourself back into reality there.

Does U.S. English need to be set as both the system language and the Siri language, or could I just set it as the Siri language? I'm learning a language and prefer to keep my iPhone in that (non-English) language. Anyone willing to test changing the system language to Dutch, Italian, or something?

configure your WIFI access point to US as country
Sorry, but can't see such and option in the iPadOS configuration. And if you mean the router itself, it doesn't make any sense as I can access Apple Intelligence with the Mac Studio without changing anything ( WIFI or router ). My guess is that we only have one device that can access to Apple Intelligence using the same iCloud user. So please stop speculating and give clear and precise instructions if you really know how to grant access to Apple Intelligence with the iPad or with more than one device using the same account in the European Union. Anything else is just wasting our time.

Sorry to speculate more, but it’s possible the implementation on the location checks are different, maybe related to iOS and iPadOS being designated as “gatekeeper” platforms per the DMA and MacOS not being a gatekeeper platform?

You can definitely use it on more than one device. So that’s not it.

FWIW I am assuming Apple is going to start geofencing Apple Intelligence in the EU once it is released, so I wouldn’t get too used to it regardless.

It was working on previous betas, at least for the iPadOS. It stopped working last week before the current new beta was released, so it was something they changed in their side that affects iPadOS.

Apple Intelligence waitlist?
Honestly, this is becoming an utter embarrassment.

No wonder Google pulled their Pixel Pro launch forward. Apple are easy pickings right now and the 16 range is going to bomb.

At this point all Tim can do is lower the price and hope for the best.

It’s not actually a waitlist. You request access and get it immediately.

I was placed on the waitlist 24 hours ago, and still do not have access. And I am in the US with my phone set to US English.
Weird. I installed the beta and put myself on the list on Friday and was IMMEDIATELY added. Like less than 15 seconds.

Edit: I also didn’t get a notification that I was added. This is probably a stupid question, but is it possible you’ve been added but not noticed? It’s just you’re the first person I’ve seen in multiple sites saying they weren’t added immediately.

Nope, I just checked again, and no go. It says I am on the waitlist.

Yeah first I’ve seen of this as well. My friend with his 15 Pro Was added immediately after and my MBP took a couple of mins or so.

Yes you don’t need t odo anything on the Mac. But on the iPad, yes, you have to change the configuration of the access point/router. On the iPhone, you just have to use an US apple ID for the app store. Each device has other rules.

Google pulled their pixel launch forward to a time when the US is on Summer vacation because they know that Apple will basically monopolise the September news cycle.

Wait and watch.

Hope they'll find a way to implement the technology in the EU soon.
I don't use AI that much, but I'd like to get an "all-in-one" integrated solution within the apple os, instead of using third-party apps and whatnot.
