iPhone 3GS: standby - 300 hrs
iPhone 4: standby - 300 hrs
iPhone 4S ... 200 hrs

... it´s magic ... no wonder Steve left...

- by the way, I hate Harry Potter and his magic shi*!

Give sources android fangirl or your just pulling stuff from your magic wand.

Since you have this, let me ask a question.

I remember an IBM commercial back then that showed something like what the iphone 4S is doing. It was a mini movie like commercial that showed to investigator cops questioning I believe a person and they had a phone that dam looked like an iphone 4 and it was taking down the dictation in real time, was way so cool but I only saw it once, never been able to find it maybe you saw it. :)

world phone

they way they talk about the WORLD PHONE in the videos, "and now CDMA customers will be able to use their phone anywhere in the world" Does anyone think that one MIGHT be able to have the GSM/SIM of a Sprint phone be unlocked? I mean, sprint currently doesn't have any capability to enable worldwide roaming with GSM carriers like Verizon does.

How is this putting the iPhone way ahead?

Because it is NOT and Android!!

I dealt with the Android OS for over a year and it was painful!!

Just horrid!! Bloatware, software you can't stop, nor delete. Just garbage!!

Good luck with it.. You will need it.

You have to be careful what handset you choose and what flavor of Android you get. It requires you to do research. The Nexus series of phones don't have any third party apps I've always found them to run beautifully.

Really let down about the name, I still think it makes no sense. This is going to throw off naming in a big way and marketing wise is quite negative.

However, phone is exactly what I expected they would announce, going to try to get one through my carrier as soon as it's available.

Well I'm going to hold on to my 3GS for another year ... since getting an iPad I haven't been using my iPhone nearly as much and I know it's because of the screen size.
Same here: since i got my iPad 2, I'm only using my iPhone 3GS to listen to music and (surprise!) make phone calls.

I'll be holding on for my 3GS for a while. Couldn't be bothered less by the faster processor and graphics (if I was a teenager and into gaming, I wouldn't have Apple products anyway), not interested in then Siri gimick, why wouod I want to track my friends, and why would I need an 8Mpix camera if all I do is take snapshots with my phone? If I want to take serious pics while on vacation, for example, I'll bring my 18 Mpix Nikon.

The iPhone 4S is great phone for someone who wants to get his/he first iPhone or smartphone, for that matter, but not a reason to upgrade from any smartphone with an existing contract.

I went from a 3GS to a 4 last year, and I don't think I had any issues with the migration. I would expect the same for a 3GS to 4S.

I would update the 3GS to iOS5 on Wednesday, and be sure you sync your 3GS one last time before you do anything with he iPhone 4S, and then you should be able to restore it with the 3GD iOS5 backup.

Thanks aross99!

That is entirely subjective and you can't ignore the fact that the 4s will be outspec'd by most upcoming high end android handsets and android ICS is looking to be a very worthy opponent to iOS 5.

There's also the nexus series and rooting, custom roms for (somewhat)advanced users.

I like the new phone. If the name had been iPhone 5 instead of iPhone 4S with all the same specs, it would have been better.

The only other things that I still hope a future phone will have is a teardrop back, GPS, optical zoom (thrilled at f/2.4 though) and a .5" bigger screen with the front button moved or done in software.

That being said, this phone is the best out there, especially since I use iTunes, iWork, and need a point & shoot camera when I don't have the DSLR. I will be getting one, and it will do everything I need a phone to do.

One question, does iMessage work if you are in a foreign country?

I am moving on to Android. I was hoping for a iPhone half the size and weight with doubling the screen size. So long!

hahahahahahahahahahahahaha sucked in fanboys

Your talking to children you need to tone down the big words like "because" and "purchase decision" way to big a concepts for them to grasp their poor little young minds around.

The keynote this year has been nothing more than a disappointment for me. I was set on buying it to replace my iPhone 3G, but now I'm not so sure...

It's a gorgeous, incredibly powerful phone. Siri is absolutely ridiculous technology for a consumer device. I don't understand why the fact that it doesn't have a new case somehow ruins this. I have a 4th-gen iPod touch and much prefer the iPhone 4/4S form factor to the tapered design.

Sign me up for the 4S.

Declan McCullagh (CNET): Apple stock has now fallen 3.42 percent, while the NASDAQ is down only half of a percentage point.
For what it's worth, the stock market is generally considered a long term investment vehicle.

3.42 percent is a very slight decline if I use my own Apple stock as an example.

Purchased many years ago, I have enjoyed an increase of 1,998 percent exactly, as of today's closing bell.

Therefore I can easily afford a temporary decline of 3.42 percent and not lose one moment's sleep.

Thank You To All, Who Have Bought Into The Apple Eco System :)

Just stop the whining, its a solid update, Apple were never going to increase its screen size, its a phone not a PSP, its screen size is ideal for a phone, any larger and its uncomfortable, they have stated that themselves, let alone all the app that would have to be re written to cope with the new screen NEVEWR WAS GOING TO HAPPEN.the phone is not made for you tech geeks its made for the masses and love it they do.

Apple have found a platform for the iPhone they are happy with, just like the Uni body macbook, the design may update slightly but overall i see it staying the same for a few years to come. .

Never? Never say never. Apple was never going to make an Mp3 player, until they did. They were never going to make a phone, until they did. They were never going to make a tablet, until they did. In other words, never predict what Apple (or ANY tech company) will do. The very nature of the industry necessitates reinvention from time to time.

I've been consistently amused by people who've cited the delay as "evidence" for a redesign. There was a supply chain disruption from the Japanese earthquake, the Verizon iPhone launch, the white iPhone launch (which itself was behind schedule), the lack of full LTE deployment across carriers (and Apple's dissatisfaction with the power consumption of Qualcomm's current LTE chipset), and the unfinished development of iOS 5/iCloud, which are still in beta. Besides, anything that could've caused a slowdown in Apples release cycles would apply equally to any device they would've released.

There were lots and lots of reliable rumors of the delay to fall even before the Japan Earthquake, so that is not the reason for the fall release. Probably more related to Siri and iOS 5 than anything else.

Sell your Apple stock now--you fool!

Don't Need It, I'll Wait

Got a wife, don't need Siri.

Got a canon DSLR, don't need a new camera.

Got an xbox, don't need a faster processor for games.

Keep you're iPhone 4-@$$ apple, I'll keep my 3GS. If you want my cash, better come up with something better before it croaks

Wait another 3 months for the iPhone 5

Almost what I wanted, needs the bigger screen. I'll wait another 3-6 months for the real iPhone 5 to arrive.

With that attitude, I bet she cherishes you too.
