OK Stage Manager may become a permanent part of my life. And it works great using Alfred as an app launcher; fingers never leave the keyboard!

It's really effective (and fun to watch) in an application like Mail: delete a message, and it switches to your mail Mail window; clink a link in an open message to open behind mail, and the page pops up on top of the tiny Safari stack without interrupting anything in your view. Loving it.

What a strange industry that creates such big events to showcase new releases ... which aren't scheduled to actually be available for many months out. I think it's called "keeping momentum." Apple invests a lot a lot a lot of money in momentum. The momentum itself seems to have become a quantifiable Apple product.

Sure. Driving interest is a big part of it. So is getting developers engaged to test against the new versions coming out and develop new features using the new apis. Those things take time. That is one of the reasons for the delay between announcing and shipping. Otherwise they could just do the announcements in the fall when they launch the new phones and then announce the new software at the same time.

Am I the only one not impressed? Not trying to troll, but it just feels blah.
It’s an ‘iOSifying’ update. Turning the macOS aesthetics and function more closer to iOS with every upgrade. Someone at Apple want to consolidate the GUI and UX so ‘new users’ feel right at home if it looks more like iPhone. If you check Ventura’s System Preferences you will understand. Spoiler: it doesn’t have a System Preference anymore. Instead of turning the macOS more advanced and productive they’re turning the Mac into an iPad. Don’t know why though maybe the iPad will turn into a…. nah. Forget about it.
