Just an update, I was successfully able to exchange my "old" dual-band Airport Extreme yesterday (it was 10 days old). There was no restocking fee despite the fact that it was unpackaged.

So far everything seems fine. To answer the earlier question: I did not see any QOS additions. Sorry

Just a warning ...

I was one of the ones that bought an AEBS right before this last update. I called the store and they said they would exchange it without the restocking fee.

I just did that today without any problems. The folks at the apple store are great. The girl said that they were taking them back without a restocking fee for everyone (I'm assuming just the ones who were exchanging).

Now here's the issue. The new AEBS requires the latest version of the Airport Utility to work. It's only available on the included CD. The problem is that it requires Leopard to run. AGGGH!!! I haven't updated yet.

So my next option is to run Airport Utility on my PC. I'm downloading SP3 right now because Airport Utility requires XP/SP3.

I'm lucky I have an option .. but not everyone has another compatible computer lying around to use.

Just putting this out there because I hadn't read about it and I don't think it's widely known.

My Apple REmote has a definite ship date! its a really long time away though.
