Oh well... $499 was the price of the original iPad. Then it became the price of the iPad Air when it became second-tier after the iPad Pro. Now it buys the iPad mini. And Apple keeps raising the prices.

i partly understand the whining about the price increase...but given the silicon shortages worldwide...completely new design and capabilities...new tech...i think $499 is about what i expected. itʻs soooo much more than the previous mini. iʻd pay a little more for it.

What big bezels! Hell they're thicker on the sides than the one it's replacing, though I know this was the case with the 10.5" to 11" Pro as well. Could definitely have gone 8.4"

Still, no deal breaker. Everything else seems great. Gonna get one for my mom and then maybe one for myself later.

Ipad Mini is great value for money, much more so than pretty much every iphone. Recently bought a Mini actually, but since I prefer a real button and don't need the extra power, well, I'm happy. (I am an Android user mostly, but the Ipad Mini is hard to beat (other Ipads are way too large))

this is the one! i can't believe everyone got it so wrong. especially kuo with the October release date.

i posit apple wants it to be a gateway to ipad pro, but making it as pro as it can go. its going to be a huge sleeper hit. i think apple will be surprised how loved the mini is.

And i never would have expected usb-c

I wonder if it has the A15. They didn't mention and they probably didn't want to reveal the A15 before the iPhone.

Been waiting for this exact iPad Mini refresh for ages!!!
Love my iPad Pro 12.9 Gen 5 but I need the same finish but much smaller and supports Pencil 2, and BOOM there it is haha

Just recycled my v1 mini yesterday. Was seriously considering this mini until I saw the price. Guess I’ll wait until I can get a used one at a discounted price.

I may actually have to break what I said about no new Apple devices, I really like the specs of the Mini and it would be worth it. We'll see. :)

Yes, feel the same way too! The Mini is the sweet spot for me in terms of size. Big enough to read a book and watch a tv show during my commute, but small enough to easily take with me everywhere.

definitely buying this, might sway me to skip the iPhone 13 pro max

$500 lmao. what a joke. Remember when apple just do product improvement at the same price instead of charging significantly more for each improvement they made?
Pretty much every iPad is overpriced. Since they own the tablet market, they can get away with it. The base iPad gets the sloppy seconds of old gen every year and is the same design for eons. The Air when adding storage almost makes you question why you're not just going for the Pro for a little more. Then you have to buy the accessories.... smh.

I just got a Samsung tab 7 plus and love it with Dex it really is a laptop replacement and that screen, but the mini was always my favorite iPad and perfect for carrying outside the house and with 5 g. Sold that's the iPad I want this year.
