So Apple promises more saturated colors. Oh oh, What are all the loyalist who hate the saturated colors of superamoled gonna say now. Windows 8 tablets this year will be the ones to offer a real full OS experience. It's not even close. But I'm sure a lot of kids will still want one. Leave the real tablets for the adults.

Haters hate, theres not a "tablet" (100% rip off of ipad) on the planet that holds a candle to the ipad. Go cry on an android site

So, there are both AT&T 4G bands AND Verizon 4G bands inside one iPad? In another words, there aren't two distinct version of iPads like there was for the iPhone 4 and iPad 2? Can anyone confirm this?

there has to be two seperate ones because it makes you choose att or verizon version when you buy one

People love it when you tell them that what's true for you must be true for them. I don't even own a smartphone, it certainly isn't my life. And when I do get one, it still won't be "my life." I don't know what planet you live on, but my life tends to be.. you know. Me. Go back to whatever slop you came from, kay?

Please, before you out yourself as a complete and utter moron, try getting a clue. 264 ppi means 264 pixels per inch. That's the same whether you're 15 inches away from the iPad, 15 lightyears away from the iPad, or have never seen one.

Again, this is a bit funny given the completely clueless nature of your post. Get a grip,

You are the one who has no clue. Your narcisistic mess. first of all he was saying the smartphone is your life, "your" implies him and prob for that matter alot of people on this forum, no one cares if you have one or not, nor needs to hear your pompus replies.
SECOND, 264 ppi is much less than the iphones 326 ppi"retina" and thats what hes referring to. who the moron now. who really has no clue?

Well, personally I'm not disappointed at all. Everything I expected (with the exception of Siri) has been implemented. I personally see LTE as useless since the carriers are charing $10 a gig. Unless you just have money to throw away, I don't see it as a wise option to purchase a LTE iPad.

AT&T model includes LTE at 2100 MHz in addition to the 700 MHz which the Verizon has, and the Verizon model includes CDMA for 3G Fallback (AT&T does not).

You still have to choose between AT&T and Verizon.

I think it's very much needed to have Siri on iPad!

It's great for dictation.

If you are making content on iPad, it can be good to have Siri for voice to text.

I use my iPad 2 all the time for my contracting work, making appointments and recording them. My iPad 2 is also my gps (I have it mounted in my truck). Much of my time is spent searching for peoples addresses. It would be awesome to have Full Siri capabilities to google addresses and record appointments without having to type everything in.

Just because it doesn't seem necessary for you, does not mean it's the same for everyone else.

You both are right. Siri's capabilities does depend on each individual.

Have fun using an OS thats still confused about whether its a mobile OS or a desktop one.

Windows bashing used to be a lot more fun back when Windows actually mattered. You can't even call them M$ anymore now that Apple makes more money and has a bigger market cap.

@Timzer - Windows 8 tablets "will be"... wake me if and when, OK?

How exactly did Apple manage to brainwash 315 million people into buying iOS products?

Fact is that the iPad has the best software by far of any tablet, both the operating system and third party software. Fact is that the iPad has the best build quality. Fact is that Apple has the best service, with stores where the employees are actually going to help people with problems and are not going to fob them off.

These three things together mean any competitor trying to sell similar hardware specs has to sell for a lot less, to provide the same value for money. So what you think is "brainwashing" is actually customers being more savvy than you are. In addition, there is some degree of brand awareness, but that is only a small part of the equation.

Several companies tried to sell tablets in the same price range as the iPad. They all failed. HP ended with a fire sale and eight digit loss. RIM is now on a permanent sale. And Apple just pulled the rug away under the feet of any company that thought they could sell a ten inch tablet for $400. The problem that these companies have now is that they cannot actually build products and price them competitively _and_ make any money at all anymore.

Hehehe well said.

No one can currently compete with the iPad. Just like last year.

I think Samsung has the best chances because they - presumably - can best get around the supply chain obstacles Apple has put up. Samsung makes displays, makes Flash memory, so you'd think they can keep up with the pricing.

Case

Well my ipad 3 has been shipped! Has any one see a good case yet? I don't want to scratch my new friend.

If Apple were going to put Siri on the iPad, it would only be available on the 4G model as WiFi doesn't always have access to internet/servers.
Makes no sense, since the 4G model only has service if you pay extra for it on a monthly basis; since data plans are not mandatory like the iPhone, always-on access is no more guaranteed on the 4G model than it is the Wi-fi model.

Am I crazy here or is the best tablet on the market still the iPad 2? Now for $399 or if you can manage to get one for $350 as I've seen a few folks do, I do not see a point in getting the iPad 3. The iPad 2 appears to be just as responsive and capable as the iPad 3. The jump this time wasn't as drastic as the change from iPad 1 to iPad 2. Having said that, the fact that apple did not increase battery time, or add Siri and an SD slot are let downs.

That's completely up to you, dude. If double the screen resolution, quad-core graphics, significantly better camera, and voice dictation don't sound like features worth an extra $100 to you, then get the iPad 2. But I wouldn't rule out the importance of the Retina Display until you've seen the iPad 2 and the new iPad side by side in an Apple Store.

It gave me a LOT of hope from :apple: for an incredible iPhone 5 (or The new iPhone, whatever they call it).:rolleyes::rolleyes:

SD slot? hahaha. you obviously no nothing about apple or anything they make or do

I really dislike the expression Retina Display.
Apples claim of 300ppi at 30cm as the retinal perception limit is debatable. Others claim closer to 500ppi at 30cm.

Nevertheless I don't think the eye is made for looking at such small screens as the ipad or iphone.
The eye is made for detecting prey or danger at a distance.

I am however looking forward to the new and big 4k screens that are coming later this year.

Apple TV set is likely.

iPhone 5 is a given.

MacBook Air 15" is very likely.

So yeah there's lots of stuff coming. I don't think we'll see any post-SJ surprises, but all the stuff the great man had planned are being executed with the usual laser focus and perfection we expect from Apple.

it was such a stupid idea to call it the new iPad. what are they going to call it after the next generation? the old iPad? :apple:

Official name isn't "The new iPad". A kid would get it, yet you don't.

If someone says "Today we present you the new iPad." you immediately think official name of the product is "the new iPad"? What the!?

they don't do this with the original iPod, the iMac, the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air, the...

You get the idea. there is no model number in the name and if you want my opinion, the next iPhone will be the same.
