I guess I fall into the I don't want to be tracked and death to all ads and anyone who deals in them is evil categories. I don't want any ads, anywhere, for any reason. I don't want them on TV, on the roadside, on the radio, at the movie theater, on the web, in a stadium my mail box, in my email inbox or on my phone. I do not like them Sam I am. (Should have made that rhyme, but I didn't want to expend the energy. You should imagine it does though.)

There was a time when I opened the App Store on a daily basis to see what new app there was to download. I now open it like once a month, after you've found your top 20-30 apps everything else is kind of useless to be honest unless you are a hardcore mobile gamer or something. I add maybe 2 apps per year in my "collection" of apps but I also delete many which I never use.
I can't remember the last time I downloaded an app or even browsed! For the longest time it's been a quagmire of trash. The curation of apps for sale is virtually non-existent, tags are abused and the ads (not to mention these proposed ones) are heinous.

Dunno the exact figure of ad revenue, but I bet this also contributes to that “unusual growth amid hard wind” quarter. Apple following money so ferociously and deliberately, I have to say they should pull out most if all of their marketing stunts just so it reflects their stance and identity better. (Cough, privacy ads, cough)
Timmy doesn't care what he has to do to make those numbers go up, that's for sure!
