Apple Invites Media to 'Notebook' Event October 14th

So, I think this is going to be my first Mac non ipod/iphone purchase.

I've been quite anxiously waiting this date... now if I can just convince my boss that I need a new laptop..

does it look like its the black macbook but then kind of aluminum in the top right corner due to the spotlight?

I would think that this is just the current Macbook Pro. I can't see them using the new product IN the event invite.

Sooo glad they are still having it the 14th, as rumored. Hopefully they will be available next week also. My g/f needs a new laptop and I've been telling her to hold off for the new Macbooks-- I want a new Mac to play with :D
 
Using Photoshop measurements, and known sizes of current 15" MBP and 13" MB, that laptop is either 15" (14.1 / 9.42) or 13" (12.78 / 8.54)

Don't know if that helps anyone or means anything to anyone.

aargh....dang apple..you owe me notebooks. i can't stand this anymore. why does it take so long. no updates, just socks. i'm depressed now:(

Engadget posts the invite for the Apple media event which will take place on October 14th in San Francisco. The invite simply reads:Apple has been rumored to be delivering new MacBooks and new MacBook Pros this month. A number of leaked photos have been circulating.

Looking Too Deeply Into the Invite Part 1
Anyone else notice that the "spotlight" shining on the laptop is shining in the top-right corner where spotlight is on the desktop?

Notice how you can see more of the top (width) than the side (height) for the screen? That means we will have the even wider screens for these.

Just kidding - will be funny to see the whole 16:9/16:10 debate for the next 5 days
 
In the previous thread I said Apple would NOT release'em on Tuesday...but since the economic crisis is OVER, they can do it...:rolleyes:

Nah nah, I admit I was wrong, so...BRING IT ON, APPLE! I need a replacement to my good ol' iBook G3!!! :D
 
I bet no Mac Mini update if its only notebooks.

When will Apple update the Mini?
