er - so what's the big deal?

are you lot suggesting that the new MBP will be able to do something the old one can't?

TOLD YOU :p
haha wont take long... my local store has cancelled all macbooks or they just are out of stocks :D

All I can say is:
WOOOHOOO
have been waiting for a while to use that ADC hardware discount to replace my revA mbp :D

Finally! I can retire my old 12" PB and get the MacBook I have been waiting the last 18 months for! I'll drive to the Apple Store next Tuesday after work if they have them in stock. I can't wait!

I have been waiting for more than 18 months now. I almost bought one 4 months ago but held off, this is just such good news.

OMG guys come on keep your pants on. it's clearly a fake can't you tell the way the light shines that light had to be photoshoped. and someone could have easily made up some fake invitations and sent them out to Engadget. come on guys there has been so many of these already we should learn by now :D

but seriously I hope it's more then just the macbooks. I'll be quite sad if there is no MBP at this event.

Yes! I'm very excited!
I'm guessing the entire laptop range revamped in some way.

I bet no Mac Mini update if its only notebooks.

When will Apple update the Mini?

Grrrrr!

Actually my friend and I were just talking about that today. If the rumors are true and the new MacBooks are to sport an Nvidia chip, why would you buy a Mini? All you have to do is plug a monitor into your MacBook and your have a desktop machine that would be way better than the Mini. You'd have a great desktop and a portable for on the go. If they put a dedicated graphics card in the MacBook then I think the Mini is dead. I see no reason to put a dedicated graphics card in the Mini. They'd cannibalize their iMac/MacBook sales.

I think the Mini will just go away with no mention by Apple. Kind of like the iPod Hi-Fi. Now you see it, now you don't. The Mini was supposed to be a super cheap Mac for people that wanted to make the switch but didn't want to invest a grand in a new platform that they may not like. So it was a way of getting PC users to switch for as little cash as possible. And sure, you could get your feet wet for $499. That's a good price. But then they went Intel and the price went up to $599. Now add an Nvidia card, $699? Suddenly, that "under $500 Mac" isn't so cheap any more. In fact, it's not that much cheaper than the supposed new $800 MacBook. And we all know Apple loves selling MacBooks.

Yes my friend, I think the days of the Mini are numbered.

Wow

This is going to be really, really cool. :D

Dang, my stupid 1st Gen MBP is still going strong.

Well, actually the down arrow key fell off. And my hard drive is kinda full. I could take my computer to the Genius bar this weekend + clean off the drive.

But it probably makes more sense to buy a new notebook, right?

Well duh, of course. The new one will be able to jump rope, bring the stock market back to 14,000 and buy up all the foreclosed homes. Where the heck have you been??? Apple's products can single-handedly save the entire economy!!! ;)

about damn time, now i need to sell some things so i can get more money and get a better macbook when its released.

Excited Long Time Lurker

After lurking around these forums for quite some time, I wanted to finally register and post my excitement! I am a first gen Mac Book Pro (Intel) buyer and I am definitely ready for an upgrade. I hope the quality of these are much better than my first gen Intel, which has had numerous problems.

I hope the new notebooks are released immeadiately!

Not an exageration. The iPod saved the music industry.
