Even with all that's rumored, why would anyone expect a "small refresh" or an "S year"? I mean, just based on the rumors, how many times has iPhone actually had a bigger refresh than the upcoming one?

Won’t look nearly as bad with a case on, which is the vaaaast majority of people.
Not me, I go caseless. Plus, I’m skipping this year anyway, nothing to excite me, and possibly next years too - who wants a first gen 5G phone? Eek!

While this is true, I think Apple including a controller would show that they are more serious about gaming and the Apple Arcade.
Also, I don't have any Xbox or PS controllers.
it will be second gen 5G chip next year...so yes...you can also disable 5G and go 4G
If it’s ok to do it on the floor of Congress I’m sure it would be mature enough to do it here.

If these prototypes and leaked images are accurate, I'd say this is the laziest and most disappointing iPhone release to date. In 2 years they couldn't find an acceptable way to reduce/eliminate the "notch"?? And rather than figure out a sleek and elegant way to implement a 3 lens camera they just group 3 lenses in a square and slap it on the back of the phone? It looks bulky and tacky. I don't expect a brand new and completely refreshed design every year, but this year is exceptionally disappointing, especially considering some of the competitors current phone designs.
Picture this... The space between the camera lenses will be the same color as the back of the phone.
Apple will not do an ugly black patch on the back.
And if they do... Oh helllllll no. I’m still buying though.

It's fine. It still has the Apple logo on the back. It's going to sell like hot cakes.
I am so looking forward to this event as I have every year. At least to see the surprises beyond the leaks.
I know it's wishful thinking, but I wouldn't mind a small price drop on the 5.8 and 6.5in models. I think the iPhones this year will be a tough sell so it'd be smart of them make them a little cheaper to sell more phones.
