I know Apple doesn't usually do nostalgic things such as this, but when they announce the iPhone 8 come September 12th, it would be cool if they showed a flashback to when Steve announced the first iPhone.
The whole: "An iPod... a phone... these are not three separate devices, this is one device, and we are calling it... iPhone. Today, Apple reinvents the phone." Maybe with a black and white filter, with the crazy ones ad playing in the background in its entirety (the version with Steve's voice over). Then have a montage showing how iPhone has changed over the years, and how it’s affected peoples lives. Cue a slow zoom out showing all of this playing as a video on a phone screen... an OLED phone screen that is. Zoom out further, with the camera slowly panning around this glistening black glass enclosure along with the Apple logo. So basically, make it look like it was playing as a montage on the new phones display, while showing the phone off bit by bit, then ending with a hand gripped around it just like with the original iPhone. And closing it with the crazy ones ad still playing in the background:

"... because the people who are crazy enough to change the world, are the ones who do." *crowd goes nuts*

Maybe that's too cheesy for some, but it gives me goosebumps just thinking about it, and has that warm, classic Apple vibe to it.

Very happy they managed to make it at the Steve Jobs theater. I'm a big fan of smaller sized events because it feels more personal rather than the 7,000+ seating of somewhere like the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

Maybe they will just give a tour of the new digs. :D

If anything, I think (More hoping) they do some form of a virtual tour of the new facility Or provide an inside look with photo's. I would be interested in seeing that.

Exciting announcement. Now we're only a month away from being able to wait another month for the chance to get in line to get the new iPhone 8, which will deliver sometime 8-12 weeks later...

I am ready to pony up for the new version, as I skipped the update to the 7 last year.

Time for everyone to start deciphering what the invite logo means...

We are looking through the apple logo into a three dimensional seeming image. That simply implies the focus on ARkit and the 3D camera of the event.

For some reason I have a feeling of uneasiness about this new iPhone (pure negative paranoia). OLED screen burn-in, no home button or Touch ID, radical new design... But then again, Apple has never designed a dud iPhone- each new one gets better... so maybe my concerns are silly

At this point we have seen everything leak but to be honest still looking forward to the event!

Not everything, we have not seen a leak of the whole back/side casing of the iPhone 8, something we've seen before the unveiling for every single iPhone since the 3G.

There is one leak of the front and back glass that looks credible, but aside from that we've only seen PCB and other internal part leaks. We still haven't seen any leak about the metal band around the phone.

We also don't know anything about the camera sensors, or have anything firm with regards to screen resolution. I'm kinda hoping for another 1080p, that way the battery life is through the roof.

You likely feel this way Because it's newer technology that Apple is introducing that you don't have firsthand experience with yet. This is a company that makes the best products and This newly rumored form of Face ID was extensively tested before Apple would release it to the public, especially given how Apple values security.

There goes my productivity for that day.

This'll be the first keynote I pay attention to in about 4 years, so hopefully it'll be worth it.

NOT looking forward to hearing Tim speak, though. :p

The date is official!! I started a Discord channel for Apple Events, the first ever being for WWDC 2017. I invite everyone who hasn't joined to join and enjoy chatting with fellow Apple enthusiasts before and during the event who are eager to see the next big thing Apple has to offer. It's a ton of fun!

I'm pretty damn excited but have a busy work day on Tuesday. Hmm should I stay off MR and watch the event when I get home ? That's going to be tough

Looking forward to finally getting all the details...With my current phone becoming more and more useless, I may finally bite the bullet and invest in the latest and greatest. Currently limping along on a 16GB 4S...
