Think inside the Box! iPhone first and then is is all about High Def screens and TV (probably with limited channels), and a vastly updated Siri enabled user interface for Apple TV (the big news and Siri "hint").

Plus, the event is "televised" live again.

This is what I am most curious about. This would actually be something to give us a hint, cause Siri was 100% useless....
I saw in my Twitter feed that Neil Cybart got an invite. First time. I think he's a Wall Street guy turned Apple analyst. Runs the site/newsletter Above Avalon. I swear last year we knew early on that fashion and health and fitness publications got invites. I would love to know why the big venue. Even if it was something Apple Music related, you don't need need a large venue like that to have a musical guest.

Only thing I despise about the iPhone events are the 30 minutes of crap nobody cares about in the beginning. How many sold, how many apps they now have, how much this, how much that and the best this. Blah blah. Just get to the good stuff!!!

That wasn't the case at last year's event. Tim said the updates are being dispensed;)

Maybe they are having a bigger number of employees in the event? How many people can fit in the venue? A global launch with more people coming from more countries?
More products will be launched therefore more people participating from different product lines, specialized media, journalists, etc

Yeah that was the case last year. I think most employees that worked on Watch were at the event.

Why on earth would I want to be doing something that a billion other people are doing or part of.

Why on earth don't you just do what you would like to do in stead of letting the fact that 1 billion people do it deter you?

Don't you think it is a bit childish to try to be different just for the sake of being different? Not saying you should use Facebook, but your reasoning does not make sense whatsoever.

Siri on the Apple TV (and maybe OS X)?
Hopefully they turn the dumb ditz into something intelligent AND put her on the tv and OSX. She might also want to go to the charm school cortana went too and take some queues from Google Now. Apple was first to market with Siri and she's the absolute worse of the bunch in accuracy, functionality, adapting to the user, and sound. Hiding beind "it in beta" (the world's longest beta test ever) is not an acceptable excuse. Caitlyn Jenner is more a woman than Siri.

They have settled down in their last few events, then again they did that whole pre-planning of an event clip the last time.

Ummm Gmail was in Beta longer than Siri during Public use .. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Gmail#Extended_beta_phase

Maybe that's because Siri is a computer not a woman. A computer whose voice can easily be changed to a man, which seems more appropriate if you're calling it stupid.

To me the picture suggests Force Touch, maybe even a stylus, but most of all it looks like Siri will get a lot of attention in some way or another. Not that he needs it, I am using Siri all the time anyway. He could do with a holiday....

I suppose you asked Cortana to write that for you, she is not a bright girl....
Siri, by the way, has no fixed sex. You can change that in settings.

On the invitation, the colors used in the wave are Red, White, and yellow. Not sure why they would use Composite cable colors. Seems like the opposite direction of where they would want to go with the Apple TV.

Aren't the invitation colors similar to the UI for Siri on the Watch and iOS 9?

The fact that a billion people in the world used Facebook yesterday is more reason than ever not to use it. Why on earth would I want to be doing something that a billion other people are doing or part of.

Surely we are individuals or used to be. I can't think of anything worse. My daughter's now live away because of their jobs, both are on Facebook but both know that if they want to speak to me they need to pick up the phone or Skype me. Failing that, email or even more radical, write a letter.

My wife doesn't even use a mobile phone, she's simply not interested in them.

I wonder how many people thought the same about landline and then mobile phones and email when these methods of communication first became widespread and accessible.

Do you feel like an individual on the proprietary service Skype knowing that hundreds of millions of people use it every month?

I am doing what I want by not using it.

I find the whole concept facile and can find nothing about the notion to commend it. I do not see it as a force for good in any situation, indeed I would argue the contrary. Given it's apparent popularity I would like to be proved wrong but sadly I fear this will not be the case.

All those mediums have one thing in common - a degree of personal privacy. Why I would want to put my life online via so-called social media for lots of people to cogitate over, is something that to date no one has been able to provide a cogent explanation for.

So is Apple going to make sure there are no homeless people outside the event and the stench of urine is gone?

People that have relatives and friends living in other countries/cities can easily share their life moments instantly with a nice low cost solution enabling a good relationship without breaking the bank, and when having the right privacy settings just sharing with those you want to. Just because someone doesn't use it or don't like to use it doesn't mean it isn't useful. Not everyone has a good number of relationships, and those who do find it useful to keep up with them.
In addition to friends and families there is a stream of good info from artists and topics of users' interest that makes it worth the annoyances.
