Lol, Some responses are very funny.... Too lazy to post pictures.

"Can you get a hint? No. You may, however, get a what what."

"I can neither confirm nor deny that I am not authorized either to confirm or deny that I cannot disclose anything that you would then have to confirm. In any case, I would deny it. Got it?"

"The only hint I can give you right now is a hint of lime. And that there is a big announcement on September 9.

"Look deep within yourself and you will find the answer. Especially on September 9."

The last one really does sound hint-ish.

Edit, added one more

iPhone yes, iPad Pro no, iPads are usually announced in October. This has been confirmed by a number of people so unless they are wrong I wouldn't expect to see it at the September event.

Hi Dave.

It's the, 'confirmed' by a number of people, part that I wouldn't bet on. They're are always tons of thread replies from 'experts in the know' stating words like absolutely not!, 100% no way!, impossible forget it! (and the opposite of coarse) etc, etc. The only time you here back from them is when their occasionally right.

This is very true, however I was thinking more of the people who have leaked information not people on this forum, if you google the iPad Pro there are tons of rumours about it. I could be wrong and we could see the iPad Pro announced, after all Apple surprised some people last year when they announced the Apple Watch at the September event. Personally I do hope I'm wrong because I would love to see the iPad Pro!

Don't want to build up too much hype otherwise we're let down but this venue is quadruple times 3 the size of the usual place where Apple hosts their events.

Bill Graham Civic Auditorium: 7,000 people
Yerba Buena Center for the Arts: 700-ish people

Also whats with the street barricades, seems awfully odd for an Apple event.
http://www.cultofmac.com/386729/massive-apple-iphone-6s-event-september-9/

The street barricades could be logistics for loading the show in, with enough breathing room that no one can take pictures of what's going in. Don't know how hard it is to get large trucks into the loading bay doors at this venue but in busy cities like San Fran, for example, we've had to stop traffic for a while to maneuver a truck into the venue. Not sure what they would be for after the event starts.

Someone should take a look at previous invitations and see whether they were actually hints at what was being introduced. My guess is no, and all this reading into a few colors and shapes is breeding speculations that are crazy.

I totally suspect the Apple marketing team to browse the forum here and piss themselves laughing at some of the speculations about what an edge here or a corner there might mean.

There actually have been numerous real hints in previous invites. Check out this to see: http://www.theverge.com/2013/10/21/4852132/history-of-apple-event-invitations-and-hints

If this is just some Apple Music entertainment I'll be disappointed. No more stupid U2 fiascos.

Maybe they Got Adele, Beyonce, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars, Eminem, Drake, Kayne on stage with Tiesto, Avicii, Guetta and Deadmau5 spinning the platters, that would be one hell of a party, a box full of egos, most of the top sellers of the last 15 years.... I'm not really expecting that :), but fun if such insanity happened.

That still doesn't indicate an Apple TV at all. I don't see a reason to switch to a larger auditorium just to announce a new Apple TV with Apps.

If the Apple TV is a console/homekit hub/cable cutter's dream, and there are media deals (which may have been concluded after all), that would warrant a big event. The public impact would be pretty large. The normal Apple TV wouldn't warrant this, but the upgraded one would.

I'm getting worried that their might not be an Apple TV update...the lack of supply chain leaks is surprising.
Do you know how a supply chain works? Part of the reason there are leaks from the "parts chain" for iphones and such is because there are many different manufacturers involved in their production because one company can't reasonably produce all the parts. More players = more chances of a leak. Besides the Ax processor, there's nothing unique or standout about AppleTV components. Its a circuit board in a plastic case with no market for peripherals. They could have been making the thing for the last six months with a single manufacturer and we'd be none the wiser.

This...Maybe they did 'crack' the code and instead of an actual TV, this is now the ultimate box top set (need to change that phrase) that is now the 'hub' of your home, working with both your phone and watch.
I like the idea of HomeKit, but to me, it just hasn't gelled yet for me to run out and switch up the house, as much as I can see the implications. If Siri can take commands to shut down the media center, adjust the temperature and reset the lights, then there is hope.

How weird was it that CNN sent out a breaking news headline for this. In case you needed any more evidence those two companies were in bed together...

Or maybe they got the press release from the biggest company of which 45% of their viewers own and decided those viewers would be interested. But, hey, conspiracies are more interesting... (sic)

Good point and true. What I meant (and was probably not effective at communicating) is that a larger venue does not necessarily confirm the Apple TV.

Maybe they are releasing multiple products? I keep seeing reports of this. Some say yes others say no. Last year Apple used a bigger event to announce the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus along with the Apple Watch. Or it could just be that Apple wanted to invite more people.

For example this report which claims, Apple will be announce the iPhone's along with Apple TV and the iPad Pro (personally I don't think so)

That you don't use social media is irrelevant. Also, it is possible to use it and have real friends and family.
The fact that a billion people in the world used Facebook yesterday is more reason than ever not to use it. Why on earth would I want to be doing something that a billion other people are doing or part of.

Surely we are individuals or used to be. I can't think of anything worse. My daughter's now live away because of their jobs, both are on Facebook but both know that if they want to speak to me they need to pick up the phone or Skype me. Failing that, email or even more radical, write a letter.

My wife doesn't even use a mobile phone, she's simply not interested in them.
