anyone know of an app (legit or otherwise) that enables you to easily toggle between Edge and 3G?

seems like this would be very handy to do quick internets stuff 3G and then go back to boring Edge to save battery.

anyone?

if you open settings and go to the General > Network.. then click Home button..
do the double home tap and open Settings back up- it should still be on the Network page and you can toggle 3G off/on... As long as you dont do something else in settings it should stay there.. also just like any app, after so many are opened it may go away.

Anyone know if it is possible to sync shared Google calendars? Only my main calendar is syncing.

I have mine, my wife's, and kids on my ios 4. Go to m.google.com to set it up. Then select sync.

I hate the fact that you can't simply add a song to a playlist by just swiping or holding it. You have to go it to the playlist then press Edit and then search for the song and tap it. I'm the type who likes to add while listening.

I completely agree. I've wanted what you're describing for many years.

My ideal UI would be a playlists option for any now-playing-track (such as an icon on the now-playing screen or a "playlist button" on the secondary now playing screen -- ie, its album info view--).

When you click it, it brings up a scrolling list of ALL PLAYLISTS, with a checkmark next to each playlist which currently includes that (now-playing) track. You could add that track to as many of those playlists as you want by clicking each playlist. Similarly, you could remove it from any playlists by just clicking each checked playlist. Smart Playlists which already included the track would also show up (for info purposes only), but would be non-editable/non-checkable, and would have a visual indicator (such as a grey font color), to show they were smart/non-checkable/non-editable playlists

I badly want that feature.

When your phone is locked, double clicking still brings up iPod Control.
This has been there since iOS 2. :)

Sillyx knows that it's an old feature, as seen by his use of the word "STILL". His point is NOT that it's been ADDED, but rather that it hasn't gone away, as some may have thought.

I noticed that while wearing my bluetooth headset, my personalized rings can be heard through the headset.

I could never hear them before. It just rang.

There's more! You can also FINALLY create, edit, and delete REAL playlists right on the phone, instead only being able to create and edit a stupid On-the-Go list. HOLY CRAP! I have been wondering why in the hell that wasn't a feature on iPods since like 2004. Jeez, it took them long enough. Regular old iPods still can't do it though of course.

Though unfortunately you still can't create Smart Playlists, which are what I find most useful.

Ever find yourself trying to select mass amounts of photos to delete them? And how you had to click each one separately? (sorry of this feature isn't new)

I noticed in the photos app you could press the button to bring up the multiple photo selection, then when you click on a photo you can just slide your finger over another photo and it becomes selected as well.

Same goes with deselecting photos click on a selected photo and slide your finger over selected photos to deselect them.

Never noticed you could literally press one photo and then slide your finger to select others, I always tapped (which was tiresome). Thanks.

One odd thing I noticed...
My lock wallpaper picture is mostly green.
The swipe to unlock box was also green.
Almost like it made it match.
Today, its back to the standard grey.
Am I just imagining things?
Is there a way to get that back?

Regarding the battery drain, have you checked to make sure your display isn't set to 'auto' brightness? My iPhone4 was set that way as default and while my battery life wasn't bad, I know that auto brightness has been known to reduce the battery life fairly significantly.

If you have the brightness set to 50% with auto brightness on, I beleive that would help to increase your battery life. The display will never get brighter than 50% but will dim in darker surroudnings, as opposed to being at 50% continuously. But the constant dimming and brightening may actually be more of a drain. I've never had auto brightness off, so I will try it out and see what happens.

And I noticed when adding or editing events in your calender, the time is now displayed in 5 minute intervals. You no longer have to scroll minute by minute when selecting start and end times. Not extremely useful, but useful none the less.

This is true, Auto brightness is based on the slider in your brightness settings. The screen will never go brighter then what the slider is set at, but will dim lower then what your slider is set to when you are in a dark setting. I have my screen set to about 1/3rd brightness on the slider. It's only annoying when I show people stuff since I'm used to it, and others aren't. Lowering your screen brightness has a significant benefit to battery life if you use your phone a lot. Obviously not so much if you only use the phone for calls (insert AT&T joke), since the screen is off most of the time. You can get 30+ minutes of extra usage on really low brightness settings. When you need to stretch the battery it's helpful.

this is actually a feature that was taken away from previous versions, but when you are in the ipod app and you click the artists tab and then select an artist, the alphabet on the right side for quickly selecting an album is gone.

Remote for Bose Sounddock now works differently with iPod, and also the remote now controls Pandora....play, pause and ffwd.

not a very 'big' feature, but I've noticed that when you go back into 'settings' it goes to the page you were last on.

This isn't new. Also the same with MESSAGES, PHONE, MAIL etc. Whatever you were viewing before pressing the HOME button is where you start when launching the app again.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. Found this by chance just now as my iPhone fell on my chest while browsing MR.

Three finger double tap zooms in non zoomable situations ie calculator, settings, apps etc. Then use three fingers to scroll around. Three finger tap again to zoom back out. Confirmed only works on iOS 4.

This feature has to be enabled first in ACCESSIBILITY. I turned it back off because it gave me weird behaviors.

double tapping the caps key makes it caps lock! or maybe it's always been like that..

If you've always been hitting the caps key consecutively every time you needed something in caps, I kinda feel bad for you lol.

Go ahead and feel bad for me too. I've owned three versions of the iPhone since its inception and only now have heard of this feature.
