Apple iPhone Teaser Ad Airs During Oscars [Updatex3]

To those complaining the ad showed too little information:
The ad wasn't meant as a spec sheet for the iPhone, or to even showcase it's features. The ad made a statement about Apple being a part of the entertainment industry; its understated nature showed how Apple sees the iPhone as an iconic product from an iconic company.
 
The iPhone Commercial Shines In Compairison With Vista Commercials

Did anybody else think that the Vista commercials were crap compaired to the iPhone one? I mean "WOW 1943" and "We know you'll be WOWed when you see Windows Vista." Compaired to the iPhone's greatest movies ever hello style the Vista ones are bad. I know it's a part of a long ad capmpaign but this is bad.:apple:

When juxtaposed with some of Apple's more recent commercials, most specifically Flathead by The Fratellis, it lacks a significant feeling of excitement. I think the concept for the commercial is dead on and perfectly suited for the program it was aired with, but the scenes selected and the sense of excitement that "I need to go buy this thing" really was lacking. It looked like a regular, nice commercial, but certainly did not have the Apple feel to it. I give it a B.
 
loved the commercial. pretty much directed towards the type of crowd that would watch the oscars (older gen/more business-y). of course, that doesn't mean the younger gen. aren't after it.

Hey, awesome... my list pales in comparison. The Harrison Ford clip is from The Fugitive.
 
'Multimedia' In my last post I answered that one about the French actress, remember her in The Da Vince Code? The clip is from a very popular french film called Amélie, and her name is Audrey Tautou. She is a goddess!!

Actually, if you take the 2nd letter from the actors family names and first letter after the second vowel in the movie titles and the 4th letter of the characters names you will get the letters necessary to spell out several of the hidden features....good luck!

yes and heres more to note of the marketing strategy for iPhone:

Theres no mention audible or visible of the product being anything other than a phone. I think Apple is going to use this approach for marketing the iPhone and it's a very smart approach (almost as if they're trying not to get caught up in being compared side by side to other smart phones). It doesn't seem like they're going to try to advertise (at least in television commercial) how smart or pda like this product is. The main strong and simple message in advertisement is "it's a phone".
