I think that's due to price. We're using it for research, not actual product development. I know that Volvo is using it for research + product development. Entry cost is high, requires two DGX system at about $500k each. There was talk a few years ago to offer a free version to run on any Nvidia hardware, but I'm not sure if that ever happened. They're pushing their own cloud services now, so maybe they're selling it as a service these days... I don't know. And truth be told, we probably could get away with CARLA now as they offer SimReady to import resources from Nvidia Omniverse (have not tried it). I'm not sure how accurate their sensor simulation is with more current versions as it's been a while since I've last used it. Everything we need, we run on-premise. While cloud services are great, it can be very expensive especially if people are not paying attention.Nvidia has been relatively quiet about their vehicle autonomy platform/stack recently. I am glad to see someone is using it, haha.
