Until I see actual leaks of the foldable phone from factory lines, the iPhone Fold or whatever is just a pipe dream. Apple is only going on 8 years being behind on this tech, which isn't surprising I suppose with the leadership that's installed in Cupertino.

It seems like there's simply no ambition by the decision makers at Apple anymore. Constantly lagging behind the competition is never a good look.

  • OLED Macbooks still don't exist. They don't have touch screen or face unlock.
  • Apple is the only one that doesn't make a flip or foldable (Motorola, Google, Samsung).
  • Apple has by far the worst AI engineers in the industry.
  • Software has a million bugs and design inconsistencies.
  • Can't add camera hardware that meets or exceeds the Samsung Fold/Galaxy Ultra.
  • iWork Suite is far behind anything Google and Microsoft make.

I'm typing this from a Microsoft laptop that I bought from Best Buy for $700. It runs certain games that can't be ran on a Mac without a virtual system. It has touch screen, a Snapdragon chip that stays cool, better AI features, and 24 hours of battery life. Why would I buy a MacBook Air at this point? It costs $300 more and doesn't have as many features.

It's literally the ability to turn it into a bigger screen while also not taking up that much more space in your pocket. That said, I'm not interested myself. The tradeoff's of having a screen that is plastic again so it can bend, and the additional failure points of a hinge are just a hard pass for me. I don't think the tradeoffs are worth it. I'd rather just grab my iPad or laptop if I want a bigger screen.
The foldable display is glass, not plastic. I made the same wrong assumption early on too. Look up UTG.

Red will be good. Hopefully it won't be too dark. Will be surprised if orange is available for 18 Pro. But it is possible if it is selling in huge numbers. I have the orange 17 Pro Max and it is a wonderful iPhone in a beautiful color.

As for the foldable, it is disappointing to hear that there will not be any colors except for white/black/shades of black. Possible that the same situation can happen for the 20th anniversary iPhone too.

I would genuinely like to hear a single use case or relative advantage of a foldable phone over the existing form factor.
So imagine you're using a phone and then you find a content whether it's an image a video or an article that would look better on a bigger screen, you open your foldable phone and now it's bigger! Not that difficult to imagine i hope

Just reading comics or normal books is far superior in anything which isn't a mobile ratio. I found reading books "impossible" on phones, but absolutely delightful with my Kobo Libra 2 sporting a 3:4 display. There's simply no comparison in how comfortable it is.

I don't think I'll ever get an iPhold, unless I become a traveling businessman. In that case it's an easy choice.

Honestly a nice Red may get me to give having an iPhone another try, but I have been on Android since 2014 so it will be hard to pull me back.

The recent record breaking quarter is inversely proportional to the amount of criticism leveled at apple. Not saying it’s wrong, but the weight given to each point seems to be out of line with the results for the last quarter.

As far as not having a “good look”, I think that is in some people’s minds only. And the echo chamber that can be MR at times.

But yeah to each their own.

I don't care for phone colors but I had to get my 15 Pro in titanium blue

Blue is my fav color

2nd tier is purple, green and red

I don't understand why iPhone colour is so important when almost everyone has a case on it which can change the colour anyway.

The fact you need to ask is very worrying. Everything you do will be better on a bigger screen. If you want better cameras then get the pro

True but then again clear cases exist

Personally I usually go with neutral colours but if they release a model in one of my favorite colours I'll grab it

(BUT I won't upgrade for a colour only, and I don't hold onto an outdated and poor performing phone just because I love its color)

I have a transparent case and I see the color of my phone everyday? The color of your metal and glass phone is fundamentally different from the color of plastic or leather? Some people care about the color of their devices (I usually sell/trade my old phones, but I sure kept those two blue Pros)? Some people don't use cases? There are billions of human beings and they have different likes, dislikes, and priorities?
