Loaded fine

I just got my MBP today and the trackpad firmware update was waiting for me. However I did not notice any issues before or after the update. This baby purrs.

A lot faster than my PB 1.67, better wifi reception and pages just pop on the browser a heck of a lot faster than on the MBP.

Trackpad takes a little to get used to with no buttom but so far so good.

There are a large variety of external things that can wake up a MacBook when it's sleeping. For example, lots of people have their notebook set (inadvertently) to wake on a Bluetooth signal. You walk past somebody in the hallway with a discoverable Bluetooth phone and your Mac wakes up. Go through your various System Preferences panels and make sure anything that says "Wake on..." is turned off. Once done, your auto-wake problem will probably go away.

Not to skew to much out of the threads subject, but i've done all those things, with no positive result. My sleep issues have always been the screen not waking along with the rest of the system, it happened a lot with my previous SR MBP, a couple times on my CD macbook and twice on the Unibody MBP. Wake for ethernet, administrator, sharing, bluetooth, all of them off, can't explain why though, I just see it as normal now.

The dire warning messages (don't run off battery power or else!) for this update make it sound as if you'll have to throw out your computer if the update gets interrupted partway through. But it ran so quickly that I hardly had time to quake in my boots.

I've got all kind of issues with the notebook waking back up from sleep on it's own in my backpack and getting real hot and running down the battery. Also, sometimes it won't come back on after sleep without a hard reset. Waiting on a patch for that, Apple.

out of curiosity have you sent them a feedback about those things?

It works! Clicking on the trackpad now registers on the first attempt. No more "let's try that again". :)

When I first got my new MBP, I thought I wasn't clicking in the right place or something. Then I thought I wasn't applying the right pressure. Then I started reading the other reports.

OK. I got it to work. I had an external Mouse and Keyboard attached with a USB hub. I unhooked everything except the power and it worked fine. Not sure what was causing the problem but it works if you remove all USB devices.

Great. Now what's up with that "new style" of warning window? Rushed out maybe? Seems like Adobe did the update... ;)

Although I would like some updated drivers for Windows as it can be a pain trying to click on anything

This is what I was wondering-I've heard the problem is a lot worse in Windows...does this fix it?

Great :(

Installed the update - now I have no bluetooth - nothing. Not even showing up in system preferences.

Hallelujah! (Feels funny saying that seeing as the trackpad should never have gone out in the half-baked way it did).

OK, one more request... how about the option to disable the two finger pinch in apps like Safari.

I haven't ever experienced this issue. I've got all kind of issues with the notebook waking back up from sleep on it's own in my backpack and getting real hot and running down the battery. Also, sometimes it won't come back on after sleep without a hard reset. Waiting on a patch for that, Apple.

I hit these too. It's happened at least 3 times now, out of about 15 that I have put my Mac in my backpack. I get home, it is very hot, battery drained to 50% from full. It's like the Mac was "on" even though it was closed, in the backpack. I've had a Macbook Air before this, and it never happened, and had a MBP before that, and it might of happened 1-2 times out of hundreds.

Also same thing with the sleep after hard-reset issue, I've hit that 2-3 times.

That said, the trackpad missed button clicks was the most annoying one of the 3 and so far no issues at all after the fix, works great.

I installed the firmware update successfully. Unfortunately it didn't fix the issue with the trackpad performing horribly under Boot Camp. For me the Boot Camp issue was FAR more severe. I hope they fix that soon. Clearly Boot Camp needs a driver update release.

Thanks! That's what I most wanted to know :(
