What if..

What if it's not a tablet in a usual way.

With that touchscreen imac rumor:

How about a touchscreen imac with detachable tablet as screen ? Would come in handy for artists doing all kinds of "creation"...

Just my 2 cents..

greetings...

My Dell Mini 9 Weeps & My MBP wants new company

I'm hoping this replaces both my Dell Mini 9 and supplements my MBP for everyday use.

After looking at their promo image I am 100% certain that it is a tablet. They are going to demo a pressure sensitive finger painting app on it!

Time to play "Guess the Entertainment" again?

Anyone up for Mickey K and Starship?

Too bad Jobs couldn't get Journey.

BL.

I read through this thread before posting to check if someone had already thought of my theory on this invite and was shocked to see nobody had.

It's totally obvious, and the product has nothing to do with art or drawing or painting or anything like that, although it could possibly be used to draw/paint on if it is a tablet.

Notice all the different colors. Red, yellow, blue, pink, green, grey and a little purple. If you mix all these together, you get the orange color in the middle. Notice how the orange only appears surrounding the Apple logo. Therefore, what the invitation is implying is that Apple has taken different aspects from many different products, and mixed them together into a single product. Just like they took all the surrounding paint colors and mixed them together to form the orange color around the Apple logo. Examples: touchscreen from iPhone, battery from MBP, software from Mac OS X and iPhone OS X, etc. etc.

The speculation now should focus on which technologies they're bringing together from which products. Simple invite to solve, really. The "creation" bit of it plays right along with the solution. They "create" things by taking a number of different parts and putting them together to form something better than the parts by themselves.

Definitely an idea that may come to fruition in years down the road, but who wants a 10" iMac? The tablet also functioning as a Wacom-like tablet input device seems much more likely.

Maybe Apple is redesigning or just bringing back the old, colorful Apple logo!

one site says it's a visual of "color e-ink".
I have no idea how they can tell that it's "e-ink".

maybe it's a high-tech coloring book.....

I wouldn't concentrate on the word "creation" too much. This time around Apple knows people are expecting a new device. I'd look at the artwork.

Ok so uhh, when is this thing going to be available for purchase? Didn't we hear a rumor that it would be introduced this month but won't ship for a few more? Hope that's not the case.

Here's an older post I made some time ago. Acts as a tablet (Wacom style) when connected - net book/ereader when not...

And yes, it serves as a "link" between current Apple devices.

9 more sleeps. 😉

It won't be canvas.

Like i posted before - that is a Software App - that started on the Mac, and is now PC only....

Canvas is already Trademarked - and I can't see ACDSee giving it up.

Oh gee, would you look at that. I hate people who actual doubted this event wasn't gonna happen. Told you it would. Press releases went out a long time ago. And it's obvious the Tablet is at this event.

I also like the Canvas idea, but I wonder how confusing that would get when using FCP (the canvas is the playback window for the timeline).

I've been among those who have hoped this device will be multi-purpose and integrate in interesting ways with an existing computer when it's not in floating use mode--something like a wacom or as a secondary monitor.

perchance to dream.

This will be HUGE. On January 28th people will be acting as if tablets had never existed before. That's how big this will be.

Hmm, that's a very interesting theory.... I like it!

New notebooks please Apple. Product RED would work too. 😎

Don't worry, the sequence of announcements will be like that:

1 - iTMS/app store/iPhone status;
2 - iPhone 4.0;
3 - OS X/Mac sales status - "portables dominate";
4 - new MBPs with i5;
5 - one more thing: the tablet using a hybrid OS X/iPhone OS.

You're thinking too much into this. This is just an abstract art piece so its like an artist would say "Come see my latest art piece"
That's all. No new logo, no different theories.
