And yes, I maintain that MS IS ABSOLUTELY DEAD. Economics 101 teaches you that market share means close to nothing if rentability is not there. TABLET = FINAL NAIL IN THE MS COFFIN. Move along, MS fanboys...:rolleyes:

Appreciate the Apple worship and all (big Apple fan myself). But I wish my business could be as "absolutely dead" as Microsoft. They only have a $274B market cap and made just over $56 Billion with a net profit margin of around 25% in the last year.

And "market share means nothing if rentability is not there?" What?

Don't worry, the sequence of announcements will be like that:

1 - iTMS/app store/iPhone status;
2 - iPhone 4.0;
3 - OS X/Mac sales status - "portables dominate";
4 - new MBPs with i5;
5 - one more thing: the tablet using a hybrid OS X/iPhone OS.
Apple hits you with some much but still so little that's worthwhile. It's going to be a boring opening.

Pretty exciting

I'm going to agree that the artwork on the invite they used certainly speculates towards artistic/creativity with this new "creation". My dream is that they've partnered with Wacom and put an Intous pressure sensitive pad in this thing. Of course you'd need a pen - (stylus) to use it, but knowing Apple, they could quite easily tack on that accessory and charge $99 for it.

Needless to say, being a digital artist myself, that I'm excited about this event!

You're thinking too much into this. This is just an abstract art piece so its like an artist would say "Come see my latest art piece"
That's all. No new logo, no different theories.

That is pretty close. What does a person usually say when looking at a fine piece of art in a gallery ?

"Wow. It looks so real. You can almost "Touch" it.

It will be called the MacTouch.

imho.

The green gravity drip on the left and the blue one on the right indicates angle (maybe even motion) sensitivity, ie hold the iSlate vertically and the wet paint will drip downwards, have it flat and you can 'drop' paint and it will splatter when you tap.

This is definitely a tablet coming. You can't do things like this with even a Wacom.

This thread is far more creative than anything Apple could possibly dream up.

That said, I'm waiting to see all the witticisms the ultra-creative anti-Apple hate botters will post when the new creation is finally unveiled. That too should be pretty amusing.

;)

Why is it labeled as an "creative" event when all signs point to the tablet being a media consumption device?

I hope there will be a new iLife X.

We alway's talk about the tablet but if this hide something else?

A super Apple TV and iLife X with iExtra replacing iDVD :D

The tablet is the focus and worth alone a 2-hour event...what else do you want besides a new iPhone OS, new MBPs and the tablet itself?
I'm just waiting for new computer products. Everything else is auxiliary. It gets old to hear how successful the company is regardless.

So they need to do what? Lie about that or just skip that part? If you had a good day you lie and say oposite?

With a new addition to the suite being a painting app! Which, of course, would work awesome with the new Tablet.

You heard it here first! (probably not)
