Wish I could be excited for this but no iPad with better resolution that means I'll have to wait another year...
Just goes to show how much the retina display has changed our perception of displays in general.

I too agree with you, but they are going to have a selling point. And that is going to be either the camera, a faster processor, or another typical, "revolutionary" feature. So, don't tuck away that credit card just yet :D

Wait a minute!! ... Where are all those people that said the world wouldn't want a pad device around this time last year... where are you now?

They are still around, doing their jobs to pour as much cold water on Apple as they can credibly get away with. Now that they were proven wrong that no one would want an iPad, they have switched gears and are steadily predicting that no one will want an iPad unless it has . . . well, whatever it is that they are pushing this month. Retina display? Flog that idea. Camera? Been pushing that idea for a long time.

When iPad 2 comes out, these will be the folks who will ignore the good parts and instead focus on every perceived flaw they can find. iPad 2 will sell tens of millions of units anyway. These folks won't notice. Instead they'll be moaning how iPad 3 "had better have . . ." whatever they decide then, "or else everyone will be disappointed."

They will never cease being wrong. They will never cease not to care that they are wrong. They have an agenda that has nothing to do with accuracy and everything to with picking sides.

Looks like the same design from that picture? This will probaly be the most underwhelming annoucement this year by apple.

I hope thee preview iOS 5.0... because they NEED to

They are not going to put the new ipad in the picture. They don't want to take away from the reveal on the 2nd, thats just the old ipad.

iPad 2 needs to make all of the "I waited" people realize they messed up and could've been using an iPad for a year. Then after they buy anyway, iPad 3 hits in the fall and delivers all of the great updates...and then all the iPad 1 users upgrade. That would be best ever.

I'm 25% kidding at this point.

Lots of Apple rumors coming to fruition lately. The new iPad will probably be a much bigger hit than the MBPs...

My bf bought me an iPad on february 10, should I return it since tomorrow is the 14th day?

No one's mentioned how the radius of the Calendar's corners match the iPad perfectly -- that was super clever too. Nice invite.

I guess there's not going to be any reduction in bezel size then.

Tony

I dont get when people say this, if the bezel was too small you would keep accidentaly hitting the screen and moving stuff around which would be highly irritating. The bezel stays!

You mean the original iPad? And definitely! They will probably knock off the price in just a few weeks.

Okay... have to ask... why? Why is the 2X res so important to you or it's a "fail"? The current iPad is right up there with the other announced tablets and as good as a laptop... so... is it just because the iPhone is so darn nice?

The iPad is just grainy to me. I use it to read scientific papers all the time and have to pinch/zoom ~125% in to not see the grain in the text. I don't know if I've been spoiled by the iPhone 4 or not.
