does this mean the new mbp's are going to be lame since they are coming out days before this event? they didn't merit being included?

Interesting.....

If you look at the iPad 2's screen in the picture.....you will see that the right part of it is milky.....which shows the new anti-glare screen.

Any clues of an live streamig event? Would be nice, is boring to wait for the stream. I live in Germany so i have to watch it the other day and get massive spoilers...

What are you talking about man?

The IPAD 2 will have the A5 chip which will be a dualcore Cortex A9 at least 1 GHZ or greater...and lightpeek port...Not other tablet has this port...

If they put a light peak port or whatever on the ipad, I am thru with apple. I am so tired of them putting ports and crap on their devices that have no general use outside of the "Apple Ecosystem"

It should be a usb 3.0 port which is backward compat with 2.0. That why us consumers dont need multiple adaptors to do simple tasks!

does Apple announce products ie Mac and iPad at the same event?

Thunderbolt
iPad 2
Revamped MBP's

Anything else?

I was wondering if anyone has noticed if Apple announces products from different product families at the same event? For example, at an iPod event would they release a mac application such as iWork' 11?

iPad two announced a year after iPad 1. Guessing availability in the US in April, again, a twelve month upgrade cycle.

And for those people on here who are meant to have a vague grasp of technology, please stop this ridiculous nonsense about 'retina' display. It's not technically possible, unless u want to fry an egg on the screen and have a ninety eight second battery life and also it's not necessary, the iPad display is beautiful. It has the resolution of a seventeen inch display of a couple of years ago, but with roughly twice the pixel density.

Larger harder drive, battery life improved even further, maybe a ram jump. Probably lighter and thinner. If u want more than that, look elsewhere. This device will continue to sell in the tens of millions in spite of the baseless criticism of the users of these forums.

Sure it's great... I use one myself (when my wife lets me) but competitors are coming out with better displays and that will leave Apple in the dust unless they do something to counteract.

I refreshed macrumors, then in the middle of science class I began freaking out and jumping for joy. And laughing!!

I am so excited!

No... that will be the intro along with the focus on Lightpeak to tee it up for the ipad2.

Very smart on their part... 1, 2, 3 punch and capture the headlines for a week.

My bf bought me an iPad 2 on february 10, should I return it since tomorrow is the 14th day?

come again? huh?

+1

Apple needs to better differentiate the iPad from coming iPad competitors. Unless they raise the bar significantly they'll basically be releasing an update which will basically put them on equal footing with upcoming iPad copiers.

iPad > Sum of parts.

Get off the specs wagon.

No way. They are going to update the Google Maps App, and they are going to release 4.3, which has a new wallpaper - the iPhone 4 wallpaper.

People will be slitting their wrists at 2pm EST on March 2nd.

Totally missed it. By golly that IS the retina wallpaper.
I really hope those naysayers of retina displays get to eat their shorts.

Only one competitor has announced a better display and it's minor. 150ppi compared to the current 133ppi of the iPad1.

It's not just the hardware that makes the iPad great either... it's the entire package. As you probably know being an iPad1 owner.
