Man, probably I'm just a spoiled brat, but this all seems so lame this time around...

At least we don't have to guess what the invite ad means this year. The colorful bubbles obviously represent the 5C. Kind of sad really. I don't think I like knowing whats coming. I like the guessing game.

I don't think Apple's invites have ever been totally clear. They're always a bit of a fun guessing game, reading beneath the print. Last year's iPhone event was a bit more obvious though with its giant '5'.

Event Schedule for the 10th onwards.

10:05am - Stars a few mins late with Tim Cooking running on Stage to applause
10:10 - 11:00am - Tim talks about how many bagillions of Apple products they've sold to make it look like their the best company ever.
11:00-11:30am - The iPhone 5C is launches to applause and shocked looks with some "ooooh's" throw in even though everyone knows everything about it already
11:30am - Midday - The 5S is announced and people around the Forum say how sexy it is while Twitter is full of people saying "It's the iPhone5 again".

Midday to Pre-Order launches - People on forums all arguing with each other of why their model is the best and how excited they are by a phone nearly identical to what they already have.

After pre-ordering, the internet is full of "I ordered iphone X, I'm gonna sleep with it all the time. It's my new Girlfriend and I love her"

When phone arrives, the forum is going to be full of "this feature doesn't work" or "it's got a dent in the side".

Should we be reading anything into the fact this is being held at Apple headquarters and not some place bigger?

An Apple event on September 10! OMG! The analysts were right!

I miss being completely surprised.

Also, invitation is as ugly as Game Center icon.

"This should brighten everyone's day." — iPhones for all budgets?

I have heard that the fancy 5S home button would be getting a silver ring around it.. perhaps that's the reason for rings on the invite.

Just a thought

Yesss!

It's nice to have confirmation after sending in my iPhones to NextWorth without officially knowing anything.

Also, it looks like there's a light grey and gold color on that invitation as well...so...The graphite grey is bottom left? Unless I'm color blind. I'm putting out another guess that the slate would be covered by the dark grey\white circles on the invite?

And their invitations always have multiple meanings. I must say, if the "brightening" is due to the big reveal of the dual-flash feature for the 5s, then "color" me disappointed...

Nah - Apple needs to get a larger market share from the lower end phones (south of $499 off contract) while not taking from their market share in higher end phones. This is what we'll see:

iPhone 5C:
16GB - $0
32GB - $99

iPhone 5S:
32GB - $199
64GB - $299
128GB - $399

I'm don't think the 5C will be available in different capacities. But I do agree with your pricing for it. If it's 16GB, it'll be free. If it's 32, it'll be $99.

Is there any leak for a purple 5C?
Seriously, this invitation seems like the event will push really hard the 5C.

iOS7 should make my 5 feel like a new phone.... right? :p

Not really. Unless you consider the new control centre that big of deal. Its basically that and a winterboard theme with ugly icons.

Good news is there will probably be almonst no benefit for iphone 5 users to upgrade to the 5S so all iphone 5 users can save there money. Or if they have money to burn they can buy a phone with a different platform to play with.

I hope Phil Schiller says his ultimate catch phrase at the end of the event. "Can't innovate my ass!".

Gotta love Phil!

I'm so excited for iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C releases but what about Haswell Macbook Pro? No news?!?!?!?Should I wait October?:(

just an fyi...

few of the colors on the invite are the exact same. it might have to do with transparency but hmmm.
