APPLE gets exclusive BEATLES iTunes DL for a MONTH;
The "IOR&RBILI" is a decoy to mislead

just look at the past. how can one say that apple will be fine without him. their wrong, just like the board was wrong to push him out the first time. wish it wasn't true but I really think it is.

you mean back in the days when folks disagreed with pretty much every thing he wanted to do and thus had (they believed) a good reason to push him out.

compared to today when he's dealing with folks he selected and trained. so they are all on the same wave length

Imagine, if you will, all those people burned by AT&T's network and rules about upgrading marching to Verizon to get their 3GS's. OUCH! I wonder if that's why Apple won't release a cross vendor phone? Aside from the technical issues...

1.how do you know that Verizon wouldn't have screwed folks just as badly. and won't if they can ever have the iphone

2. The technicals are THE reason. Apple has been up front about this. they wanted to focus on one technology and picked the one with the most global coverage. and now that CDMA is going out the door in favor of LTE, it is unlikely they will ever do a CDMA device of any kind

Bluetooth

Maybe this has already been brought up, but though Bluetooth is now available with the current iPod Touch 3.0 OS is that only a limited part of the Bluetooth that works with just headphones? That's what the Apple site seems to say. If that's the case I hope this time around Apple will open up the Bluetooth capabilities with the new iPod Touch for syncing with iTunes on your computer.

Also hoping for 64GB!

Apple telephone sales

I know that i'll get grief for this but here goes.

Just called the Apple store sales team for prices on imac with HE discount. The sales guy was very helpful. He did say at the end of the chat that I might be better off waiting for a few days to make up my mind. When I asked him if it was related to 09/09/09 he said he couldn't say but that I should just wait, or get it now with the free ipod but be prepared to return it for a newer version and that I would have 28 days to do it.

Think what you will of this and I know some will say that they don't know anything. Info I got about iphone 3gs was right and maybe this is to.

Who knows, just wanted to post this as it seemed quite an interesting chat.

Ok bring on the rebuttles now. :):)

Nano 16GB & 32GB?

What does everyone think the chances of apple making the new Nano come with 16GB as the lowest memory your can buy and a higher 32GB model?

Over the history of the Nano, apple has upgraded the memory each year almost every time.
Thoughts please

Predictions:

(1) iTunes 9 - 64 bit / social features
(2) Quicktime X released to all iTunes users (ie. Intel, PPC, and Windows)
(3) Cocktail - possibly
(4) iPod Touch - 3gs chipset and Video Camera w/ mic...no GPS (next year), at 16/32/64 gig capacities
(5) iPod Nano - Larger screen w/ Video Camera, 16/32 gig capacities
(6) iPod Classic - Same design, possible Camera as well, 120 gig unless a 160 is available
(7) Apple TV 3.0 + new Hardware

No Beatles. No Tablet.

That's sounds about right.

What happened to the 150 gig ipod classic anyways?? Why did they discontinue it. I'm sitting here enjoying my 160 gig ipod and glad that I went ahead and bought it.

Apple at the time (in 2007) released an 80 gig iPod Classic and a 160 gig iPod Classic. This called for two different designs, because the 160 version used a larger sized hard drive. Last year, Apple simplified the line by sticking with the thinner unit and bumping the hard drive space to 120 (which was the highest available). There was rumors of these 1.8" iPod drives dying out as time goes on so I do not know if there is anything larger around.

you'll be able to use the microphone part of a headset in iPhone OS 3.1

I don't see the point in syncing via bluetooth since your iPod isn't plugged in so it'll just kill the battery. sure you can use a wall charger but wouldn't it be the same as syncing via the computer USB?

Apple does not comment or speculate on rumors about decisions, products, programs, or promotions that are not officially announced. We learn about new products and price changes when Apple makes formal public announcements, and not before. By withholding comment, Apple hopes to protect customers from making decisions based on information that is incomplete, inaccurate, or subject to change before the formal announcement. Apple believes this is the best way to ensure that all customers are treated fairly.

this what Apple has told me but granted I asked straight up instead of ordering something. I wonder if they just keep a pages document open and just copy and paste it everytime, obvious it's rehearsed

...and a good VoIP application!

I'm hoping for a Good SIP client for iPod Touch that can background like the Phone App on the iPhone, and work with our Asterisk Server.

Then again might as well integrate SIP line into the Phone app on the iPhone and let it run on the IPT so we could use either or with the office system.

that would be a huge no. the new ipods are always not eligible for the promo AND they will be quick and smart enough to check if you filed for the rebate before you brought it back. and coming in without a receipt will ring all kinds of bells and you can bet they have a way to pull the receipt from the serial.

also, everyone pretty much knows that Sept 9 is about itunes and something in the ipod line. it's just the details that are lacking

I wonder if they just keep a pages document open and just copy and paste it everytime, obvious it's rehearsed

of course they do. and if you go into a store they will tell you that they aren't told anything until the public is. which is likely true since a way to try to spy for info about upcoming products would be to get a job at a store.

Yes, I know that Apple has contracted with OmniVision for 3.2-megapixel camera sensors that will be deployed in revised models of the iPod touch, iPod nano, and iPod classic next month, presumably at Apple’s rumored September 9th media event.
