This is disheartening because it has been well-established by many reputable human rights groups (and journalists) that much of Israel's technological edge is because it routinely field-tests its inventions on the millions of occupied people under its control who don't have the right to vote or to provide consent for having these technologies tested on them. These mainly include weapons systems as well as AI innovations meant to surveil, build algorithms for, and target them.

I doubt it. I bet he pretty much much hates everything Trump does. As any sane person would. The sucking up is purely a financial decision, he doesn’t want to anger the orange Vader.

It still sucks that he does it though, should take the financial blows that comes with standing up against the petulant child.
I remember prior to our current era of maximum graft, Apple notably had one of the smallest Washington lobbyist operations in Silicon Valley. But Orange Man upended all that and now some poor chump at Apple Industrial Design has to design and fabricate a literal participation trophy for Tim to present to the felon in the Oval O.

Q.ai has developed technology that can "analyze facial expressions" to understand "silent speech," according to the Financial Times.

"Patents filed by Q.Ai show its technology being used in headphones or glasses, using 'facial skin micro movements' to communicate without talking," the report said, adding that this could pave the way for "non-verbal discussions" with Siri.

Huh. Maybe they took my point of "people don't want to talk to computers" in wholly the wrong way.

If you don’t like Israeli tech, stop using your phone and MacBook then, practice what you preach, the anti semetic comments on here just because the word Israel is mentioned shows us Jews why we need Israel.
Criticizing a country's govt is not the same as criticizing a religion. There's a HUGE diff. And Israel hasn't gone anywhere. Anyone who supports the atrocities by that gov is free to visit the country any time.

You complain about Apple products all the time and yet refuse to move on to Android. No preaching. Just stating.

Sad that you can't go anywhere online because of the political trolls. I have not being coming to MacRumors.com for sometime because everything is about some political thing in the comments. I was excited to read about a tech acquisition and it turns into political rhetoric comments. I wanted to see people's opinion about the tech possibilities and such. But, instead instant whining about political items. I assume this post was put in the "Political News" section because of the comments section or did MR put it here at the start?

From the start it seems. And they also delete comments that point to that. Out of all the comments to be deleted on this thread, that is.

Felons are your most valuable constituents.

Incredible. A post about Apple making a huge AI acquisition has to go in the political forum because of the country the company is from. I didn't even notice that in the post until the comments. Why does everything have to be so politicized.

No discussion at all about why Apple might think this company is worth $2 billion, whether any of this will show up in currently existing iPhones, what this means for their decimated AI division, none of that?

It’s amazing how anti-Israel people are but they don’t seem to care about all the atrocities other countries commit

Most of those countries don't go around telling everyone they "are the only democracy in the Middle East" or many other things that come out of there that do not align with the actions the country commits in the region and to people it occupies.

And I can be sure that most people are appalled at what's happening in the US and ICE, so no it's not Israel or anti this or that. It's about pointing out when something is wrong or hypocritical.
