Apple customer reps did not know about the “holiday return policy”.

On my order page for the new phone delivered on Nov.13, when clicked on "Start a return", I get this page which means extended holiday return 🤗

So, does start the return mean to click return on the website or have the item back on Apple’s hands by Jan 8th?

If it is start the return process on the 8th, how long after does apple need to have the item back?

bumping this up to see if anyone knows if the same thing will happen this year..at the same time, or hopefully even earlier??

I was in the Apple Store on Sunday and asked, but the people I talked to did not know the answer. My 20th anniversary is mid-November and I am looking for something specific for my husband, but don't want to buy it more than 10-12 days beforehand if he wants to return/exchange it. I was hoping maybe they'd open holiday exchanges sooner rather than later, but I think I have keep waiting.

yeah the guy at the apple store wasn't familiar with it but apparently they do it every year so will see what happens around november 10th, last yr they did it on the 10th, before that it was on the 15th and before that the 14th of november so they gotta do it this year makes sense every other store has extended holiday returns, amazon, best buy, target, why not apple..Im also hoping that they will have better cash back for apple store purchases too
