Ok, two questions.
  • Why do they have to still use a crappy lightning connector, this should be on some sort of USB that is common to all manufacturers so we can reduce waste.
  • If the battery fails prematurely, (but outside of the warranty), does these then go in the bin?
Oh, and;

Up to 3.7 teraflops of graphics compute power

Just remember this bit when you’re claiming Apple are not spec whores……...

Any news on the iMac being able to be utilized as an external monitor ? That would be a huge upgrade from previous versions...

Update: Ars has confirmed NO target display mode... shame !

The bad
  • No dedicated GPU options, and the integrated GPU chugs if you increase the resolution or hook up another 4K display.
  • No user-accessible RAM (or any user-accessible parts, really).
  • No Thunderbolt 3 or USB Type-C.
  • No Target Display Mode.
  • Putting all the ports on the back makes things look nice but is still sort of annoying if you use them regularly.

A tough pill to swallow is the DDR3 RAM, otherwise the 27-inch retina iMac is everything (and more, hello Magic mouse 2 and keyboard!) I wanted to replace my 27-inch iMac mid 2010. Too bad, going to order one!

21 inch screens seem outdated, seems like the new standard for high end monitors are 27 inch. Wish Apple would make a 34" widescreen 21:9

Also think the iMac is due for a design refresh. Aside from getting thinner in 2012, the front looks the same. Bezels are huge. They don't look as sleek as they did 7 years ago imo.

These are very disappointing.

Why the hell do they use Lightning for charging? It's a Mac, not an iOS device, and USB-C connectors are available and would make much more sense.

Why is the power port on the mouse so badly placed so you can't use it and charge it?

Why (from the Verge review) as the keyboard inherited the same lack of travel as the deity-forsaken Macbook keyboard?

So much fail.
