Forgive me for being a nay-sayer but what's improved with the new keyboard and mouse? I was wildly looking forward to these as mine are old and disconnect frequently but this leaves me a bit meh.

I'm surprised they didn't re-brand Force Touch to 3D Touch with the new Magic Trackpad. Seems like a great time to get rid of the name that seemed to not be well-received. 3D Touch is a much better name for it, and it seems odd that the marketing is different across the products since it is pressure sensitive interactions for each product.

I noticed there's no quoted battery life for the Mouse... The track pad is more expensive.

Rechargeable AAs are still the better option. You can use them until they degrade and then replace them (versus the mouse itself). Also, because of where the connector is, you can't use the mouse while it's charging so if you're at an iMac, you'd better have a backup!

These are very disappointing.

Why the hell do they use Lightning for charging? It's a Mac, not an iOS device, and USB-C connectors are available and would make much more sense.

Why use a cable that will be easily accessible for next to nothing instead of their $20 proprietary cables? Unfortunately apple prioritizes profit over user experience.

I was really hoping for a wireless keyboard version with a 10 key and/or maybe backlit keys.
(I have the logitech k750. but was hoping for an Apple keyboard..that said the Logitech was only $29.00 on sale)

Also, does $129.00 feel a bit much for anyone else for the trackpad?

Are these going to be available in stores today? Want to pick up a new trackpad after work. Not sure how it works when they refresh like this..

Never used the keyboard but it's the same as the new Macbook. According to reviews, a complete failure. Keys have low depth so it seems like you're typing on a screen. Don't see why it was necessary since you don't need to shave a couple millimeters space in a desktop area.

I was actually thinking about getting a $79 force touch trackpad, but I just can't justify $129 since I mostly use the Magic Mouse. Plus, I don't like that they made it white.

21 inch screens seem outdated, seems like the new standard for high end monitors are 27 inch. Wish Apple would make a 34" widescreen 21:9

Also think the iMac is due for a design refresh. Aside from getting thinner in 2012, the front looks the same. Bezels are huge. They don't look as sleek as they did 7 years ago imo.
LG do. If my Cinema Display ever dies that’s exactly where my money is headed.

The Ars Technica review mentions that Apple says a two-minute charge gives nine hours of use. So not a lot of downtime in that case. A full charge is two hours, which lasts a month.
