Interestingly, I bought one November 2016 from the Apple refurb store and the recall page says it's already been serviced.
The model everyone claims is the 'gold-standard' for Apple.
I'm guessing that the machine you bought last year (2018) wasn't a 2015 model. When did you buy it? Within the time frame identified in the article? I bought mine last year and put my serial number in just for the hell of it, and it says mine isn't eligible either, which is consistent with the article.

Oh I totally love Apple is fixing it. I really am. But people have been saying it was a machine without problems. Point I'm trying to make is Apple does stand behind their products like no other tech company that I have seen. This program is out of an abundance of caution and we should be happy they are doing it. I do wonder what will happen after 4 years for the 2016-today MacBook Pros with the butterfly keyboard. So far they are standing behind that product even though the keyboard has been a nightmare. They are trying to do one day turn around for keyboard repairs now. Time will tell, but I am far happier today with my 2016 than I was at launch.Thats a bit disingenuous, don't you think? 4-year old batteries replaced for free on the oft chance it might be defective.
make sense though right? They probably replaced the battery with one not in the suspect lot when it was refurbed, or it was not in the original serial number batch that got suspect batteries.
Apple will replace the battery.so 2015 product gets recall 4 years later? How does that work?
The SSD is upgradable on the 2015; good luck with that on your 2018.Feeling better and better about upgrading to my 2018 15" MBP from my 2015 15" MBP. Zero issues with keyboard. great screen.

I'm a bit alarmed how some people in this thread are using laptops with swollen batteries, swollen batteries are no joke and shouldn't be used or kept in the house.
Darn my 2014 is still going strong, last battery test still at 84.2%
My machine is designated as "eligible," inasmuch as it was purchased new from the Apple store during the relevant time frame and the serial number is with the range, apparently. Sigh..... I see a trip to the Apple store coming up very soon in my future! Fortunately the 2015 15" MBP is no longer my primary machine, I have a 2018 one now, but I do still use the other machine from time to time, especially. I'll miss her while she's gone for her battery transplant!
If you can find a genuine Apple one right? The SSD is upgradable on the 2015; good luck with that on your 2018.
Well the article says Apple is replacing MacBooks sold up til September 2017. If they realized it in November 2016 when I bought the refurb, it seems like maybe they realized it then. Why not do the recall earlier, not June 2019?
Dude get a Dell! Everyone knows their products last and their customer service is great! (snide snicker)
