Had my 6S's battery replaced yesterday, as I was having this issue. New battery working well so far, fingers crossed it has solved the problem.

After checking my serial number and making an appointment to have the battery replaced, it took four (4) trips to the Apple Store to finally get it done. (....looks like the confirmation you got was correct....sorry, but we have no batteries.....we'll order one for you and email you when it arrives....yup, the battery is here, but we don't have any technicians at the moment.....you can drop the phone off now and we'll call you when it's ready..Oh, I guess we can't do that since we have your phone.....It will take at least four hours....maybe until tomorrow.....we have a bunch backed up from yesterday....)

Of course each visit requires that you run the gauntlet of three or four red shirts before you get an assigned seat in the back to wait for The Person to tell you why you need to come back again.

If only the products weren't so good and --- now they've become essential. I felt very insecure without my phone.

Glad that's over.

The major issue here is not just with the batteries but with the lack of processes by Apple to support the customer. Unfortunately, the fact is that they know they don't need to have as great a customer service or technical knowledge since their name recognition is so high. If you have been keeping track of visits over the years to the Apple Store there used to be knowledgeable associates and technical help in the "Genius" Bar. No longer even close to the case. They have moved to the early Best Buy model where most of the associates are just there to ring out your sale.

The Apple Store in my area has called me 3 times telling me my replacement battery is in. Fortunately, when I originally went in and they told me they didn't have the battery the first time I called and spoke with a manager over the 1-800 line and they replaced my phone. So, why does Apple not know in their systems they have already replaced my phone, why don't they send a battery where you need it when you check if your phone is under this recall, why don't they check if they have batteries for you at the store when they set up your battery replacement appointment? Just shows the lack of process and customer service.

Had my battery replaced in an Apple store. They first had to order the part and when it arrived I could walk in any time to have it serviced. Did just that and it was replaced smoothly. Hopefully it all works well from now on.

Had my battery replaced at Hong Kong Apple store. Had to wait for 2 hours before getting my phone back, which is super fast imo. The new battery has fixed the issue. No more sudden shutdown around 30%. And obviously, the battery life is much better now.

I was told by Apple that either the battery will be replaced or a replacement device. I would presume a refurbished device if that is the case. It is up to the technician to diagnose and best option. So i take it if no batteries, then a device will be sent instead.

The stupid person I spoke to on the support chat said they would send a empty box to send the phone in, i confirmed that with them 3 times before the session ended, then i receive an email with a postage thing to print and take to the post office with a barcode and said they will pack with appropriate packaging before sending it off at Apple's expense. Go figure.

Hopefully i can run my phone battery down to 1%, as I have never been able to get any further than 13%, the highest shutdown I had was 47% remaining charge.

Apple replaced my iPhone 6S with another device, which i presume would be a refurbished one, and it better be good as my original phone was perfect except the battery. They gave me the replacement phone Serial number in the email. Hopefully i will get in a few days.

I had my battery replaced Monday night and was happy with the experience. The only thing that I didn't like was giving them my unlock code, but I could have reset the phone first.

Was having issues with my battery and made a reservation at the Apple Store. Didn't even know about the replacement program until an hour before the appointment. My battery was replaced in an hour. They asked for my unlocked code too. I just looked at her and said "I'm just going to turn it off"
